Looks like not all of the Inflation Reduction Act has been frozen by the South African! 😁😁😁Thanks to advocacy by the National Organization of Conservation Districts, the first tranche of IRA funding for farmers has been released! In your weird plastic face, Elon. www.nacdnet.org/newsroom/nac...

Stop doomscrolling for a minute and enjoy some cosmic horror.

I bet 70% of District Supervisors are Republican, but we’re all in this to feed the country without exhausting its natural resources. “The National Association of Conservation Districts calls for immediate action to mitigate the effects of freezes and layoffs” www.nacdnet.org/newsroom/nac...

Sometimes I think about how Bolsonaro, who inherited the fashy coup government of Brazil from charisma-free Michel Temer, was backed Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, Ali Alexander, and other Trump kids and aides who went there to secure the world's ~10th largest economy. apnews.com/article/bols...

The GACD District 1 meeting covers reps from Northwest Georgia, 38 counties and 14 Districts (the same as USDA Districts), running from Dade, Walker and Catoosa Counties on the TN/AL border down to DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Clayton in Atlanta Metro. So we have wildly different priorities.

I’m at the GACD Group 1 meeting in beautiful Acworth, wondering how (or if) a deeply conservative, agriculture-oriented government body created by FDR to derail future Dust Bowls is going to address all the DOGE chaos. I’ll take notes on paper and post about it later.

If sci-fi is commentary on the problems of society, economics, and politics, stories coming out of Argentina should be amazing.

You can download most of your books in the .azw3 format, and there are tools online to convert those to epub or even pdf. You've got 1 week to do it.

Rural GA complained nonstop about Biden's Helene response, but at least his FEMA showed up. "It has been determined that the increased level of funding you have requested ... is not warranted," acting FEMA administrator Cameron Hamilton wrote in a letter to Kemp." www.rawstory.com/rs-exclusive...

This is probably the most accurate take.

If you are a VA or other federal employee in the Middle Tennessee area who has lost your job, please send me an email, [email protected], and tell me your story.

So depressing. Had a Soil & Water Conservation District meeting today, where the NRCS told us they'd lost all probationary employees and IRA funding that covered some activities. All their EQIP (Environmental Quality Incentives Program) loans are still covered, despite the meme going around. But the
