I just saw Eliz. Warren respond to an anchor on CNBC who rationalized Trump's move to take back money from Universities to control them. The anchor says, "Doesn't the government determine where tax dollars go?" Eliz.Warren: "Let's do Constit. Law 101..." min: .15-1:15 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZcF...

@joyannreid.bsky.social thank you. I so appreciated your willingness to talk truthfully, especially about Gaza. I appreciated your voice. Look forward to continuing to hear what you have to say, wherever you end up saying it.

“I want our elected democratic officials to start engaging in civil disobedience,” Chris Kluwe “Right now, no one is willing to step up and do that. So, if I want to ask them to do it, then I have to be willing to do it too.” Thank you @chriswarcraft.bsky.social

Republican senators are traitors to the international order that has kept this country safe for the better part of eighty years. They are traitors to their own constituents. They are traitors to everything that has actually made America great.

Europ. honey bees are suffering from parasites. 'Recently read article; learned bees use tree and plant resin to self-medicate agnst parasites. 'Wanted to see specific plant species, so looked up studies. Found a study in NIH (shocker) National Library of Medicine. Was surprised DOGE hadn't erased 🌍

@rbreich.bsky.social I am planning on attending the protests Monday Feb. 17th, in my state Capitol. A close friend, who follows you religiously, thinks that you do not think that protests are effective. Do you think protests are an effective tool in this moment?

Somebody somewhere Needs an endless field of flowers tonight

I care deeply about democracy. I would like to put a challenge out for as many pple as possible to: Describe what makes it so precious, what it means, and what happens if it is ripped away from us. It is deceptively difficult to describe, I have found. As it hangs in the balance, would you try?

@robertgarcia.bsky.social I really appreciated the way that, in the hearings yesterday, you brought the evisceration of the government by DOGE into everyday terms that people can understand. I also have to say that I played your dick comment back three times because I found it personally satisfying.

What can you do? Don’t give up hope. Dictators feed off your hopelessness. Don’t quit. Dictators want you to give up. Punch back. Dictators are bullies, and bullies are cowards. Stay tethered to the truth. Dictators need you to believe their lies. Resist. Stand with others.

I can’t participate (I live in Aotearoa NZ) but I can help get the word out. I realise work, kids, school, life are a factor but if you can get to your state capital please add your voice for democracy.

Good morning from @altyellonatpark.org

Greeting you on Bluesky with this reminder They are living, thinking, feeling beings And they deserve our respect, even if we haven't earned theirs. One love

@hannahritchie.bsky.social (Cont.) Methane is released from all ruminant species. Buffalo herds of immense size once roamed the US, burping and emitting methane. Their dung is much bigger than a cow's. By your logic, (PBS) buffalo are culprits of global warming. Ruminant methane is recycled carbon

@hannahritchie.bsky.social 'Listened to PBS special: water crises; it included your descript. of farming's contribut. to climate change. You should distinguish, but don't, between methane emissions that are part of existing carbon cycles, and methane that is newly emitted by extracting deposits.

Wanted to draw people's attention to a piece Rachel Maddow did recently. I found it very helpful in this moment. I also found its clarity empowering. It is the type of thing that makes you feel emboldened to act. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mTX...

@maddow.msnbc.com Is it really true that the FAFSA applications are now asking what kind of "white" one is? (I saw a screenshot of a list under the checkbox for "white" listing options such as German, English, etc. and under "white" an "other" option with suggestions that included Egyptian, etc.)

@maddow.msnbc.com I wanted you to know how much your reporting has been helping me. From the "Public Servant Announcements," to your recent piece on Autocratic Breakthrough, your disciplined mind has been condensing the essences of the issues at stake and presenting it in an empowering way. Thanks

@jimacosta.bsky.social I was excited to support you, but your choice of who to interview in this moment! I am saddened that these are the people you turn to...James Carville? Part of the problem. Disparaged Democrat pain over Gaza. It turned out to be #1 in some key states for why Dems stayed home

in what meaningful way can we say that the constitution is in effect when an unelected and unaccountable billionaire is wielding state power to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations?

I recommend two youtube channels: Leave Curious and Planet Wild 🌍

Chris Murphy lays out powerfully and succinctly what Trump's latest actions represent for our Democracy. Thanks to the Meidas Touch Network. Chris Murphy's message can be found at minutes: 10:07 - 12:36 in this clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcIQ...

Media vigilance in this era: Listen for the subtle way that even outlets like NPR are using this format, in an effort to escape trouble: Report tepidly on a current infringement on Democratic norms. Interview someone who rationalizes that infringement. Let that opinion stand as the last word.

As he signed off in his final broadcast, Jim Acosta said, "As the son of a Cuban refugee: It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant. I've always believed it's the job of the press to hold power to account."

Jim Acosta resigned. His message to those of us watching media outlets moderate and/or change their content, context, or narrators so as to not "get in trouble" with those in power: We should commit: I will not give into the lies I will not give into the fear I will hold onto the truth And to hope.
