Don’t stop at Scunthorpe steel — nationalise water, mail, all of rail and energy. Bring them all into public ownership.

This.

I am getting increasingly frustrated by Labour bigwigs speechifying about how the world has changed and we need to be bold and then... not being bold

If Keir Starmer wants a great pro growth policy, he could start negotiations to join the EU Customs Union. 'I need to save Britain's economy from a global trade war' is a pretty good reason to change your policy.

The Labour Party founded the welfare state. Today's Labour Leadership wants to cut it. All Labour MPs must stand on their Party's founding principles and vote against this. Tell them: mtm.is/welfarecuts

“We are not going backwards when it comes to Brexit,” says Number Ten when asked if UK will now consider the sensible step of rejoining the EU customs union. Except Brexit has only taken us backwards, and Starmer’s intransigence on this issue deserves to see millions of Labour votes go Lib Dem.

I see Starmer is once again stating his refusal to consider rejoining the EU customs union. I'm sorry Starmer, your first duty is to protect the wellbeing of the residents of the UK, if you're refusing to take action purely for reasons of petty ideology then you shouldn't be leading the country.

Just remember Mr Starmer, no matter how helpful it is to your negotiations, none of us want to eat chlorine washed chicken or beef loaded with hormones. #bbcpm

Very strange speech all round from Starmer - not entirely sure who the audience was - saying "the future is in our hands" when we know it isn't, promising a "driving sense of purpose" without saying what it is and contorting around euphemisms on Global Headwinds and Changing Worlds.

Some of the UK “Singapore” Brexit benefit stuff being trotted out is absurdly myopic. In the best traditions of Brexit, of course. The UK is trapped between two increasingly mercantilist trade blocs. It will keep paying a price that exceeds any arbitrage benefits. QED, the last eight years.

Starmer's speech is strong on diagnosis. Weak on prescription. Because Britain just isn't economically powerful enough on its own to offer one.

Starmer has said, "Nobody wins from a trade war". So why is he clinging to Brexit, which is basically a trade war fought against ourselves?

Just watched an hour on BBC about Britain's last prosecution for witchcraft. I have never seen such a warping of fact and reality as the rubbish just broadcast. BBC the worlds best broadcaster... now conspiracy theory rubbish. As bad as the original con in 1941.
