In which a letter from me and my amazing @transactualuk.bsky.social colleagues *is* the news uk.news.yahoo.com/supreme-cour... Write to Starmer.

but somehow it's trans people who are all sexual predators, not the GCs. This woman has done actual harm to children. But GCs aren't interested. Because she's one of them.

how can the government possibly think this is a viable position? Never mind the vile attitude towards trans people, how on earth do they think they could possibly enforce it? Plus trans men using the ladies? And cis women who don't conform to someone's idea of what a cis woman should look like...

This. So much this.

really fed up with the media analysing the Supreme Court judgement in terms of what it does to or for political parties or politicians. WHAT ABOUT WHAT IT DOES TO TRANS PEOPLE?

Pretty sure there are a few more outside the supreme court than there were on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court decision will be causing concerns for many in the LGBTQ+ community. I support the call from Christine Jardine MP for the government to clarify how the rights of our trans and non binary friends will be protected.

I am not a lawyer. I would love to believe that the refusal to hear from trans people during the case means there is unfairness with regard to their rights. However, I fear that lawyers would say that both sides of the argument were represented in court, that is enough and there is no unfairness.

hey @assoclibdemcllrs.bsky.social had you noticed this?

Wokingham Borough Council is shortlisted for Local Authority of the Year in the Municipal Journal Awards 2025. What's remarkable is that of the 7 councils on the shortlist, 6 are run by the Lib Dems, alone or as part of a coalition. That's pretty good going for us Lib Dems!

I am utterly shocked that in the US things have deteriorated so quickly into a situation in which married women have obstacles put in the way of being able to vote, primarily because Trump and his pals want to disenfranchise and punish trans people.

There are studies that show that up to 25% of homeless people are LGBT+ youth that were kicked out by their parents, simply because of who they were. Not even gathering the data just allows this wickedness to continue. We heartily support AKT in what they do. No-one should suffer for being LGBT+.

Wishing Jewish communities across the UK and around the world a happy and healthy Passover. Chag Pesach Sameach!

They are only realising this NOW?

One day Americans will remember that although democracy can be awful it is still the best out of all the other systems that have ever been tried

Trump and Musk are taking the US back to the Dark Ages. For some reason brain is full of strong Jasper Fforde cheese smuggling images

Let me check I have understood this properly. The reason Trump has imposed a lower tariff on the UK than the EU is because the UK is worse than the EU at selling things to the US, right? How is that a Brexit benefit again?

British businesses are struggling to grow, but aligning ourselves with the EU will open a massive market on our doorstep to UK manufacturers. Last night, I asked the Minister to consider a UK-EU deal to make trading seamless, and to get the UK’s economy growing.

@thetimes.com do you really think that prosecuting someone for corruption - taking public money and using it to support your own political party - is wrong? You really think the person who took that money is the victim? What the heck has happened to your moral compass?

Eid Mubarak!

At what point will the majority of the people who voted for Trump stop supporting him? Probably never. That's how bad this is.

what happened to Spring weather?

It's hard to imagine what the US government will do next. Make money from hiring out the White House? Insist school children pledge allegiance to Trump every morning? Invade Europe to annex our eggs?

has it occurred to anyone that rather than cutting benefits a better way to tackle the enormous number of people now claiming sickness and disability benefits might be to improve healthcare?
