Okay, I think another goal for "Real space opera" should be choreographed spaceflight and 3d battles at realistic or fantastic scale. Like, if you are living on a planet with computers, that means simulating the voyages and documenting each planet in at least passing geographic detail.

btw trans men on HRT are generally banned from both mens and womens sports because testosterone is considered a performance enhancer. thats not as flashy as the transmisogynist angle and it gives away the game too much so they focus entirely on trans women and 'fairness'

Y'know what might make extraction shooters a lot more appealling? Like a team-deathmatch / classic multiplayer side mode. Think about it. Extract with a bunch of fun guns then use 'em as a loadout in a stress-free capture the flag. Balanced? Fuck no. But shit I'd play it.
