It’s an indictment of the state (future) of the justice system. The fact they have to consider this is a mile marker of where the US is in its slide into a very dark future (history repeats). It’s a vote of no confidence, an acknowledgment that dissent will be silenced. The last of the rebels.

Yup. David knew to go to Louis directly. I only meant that fans tend to pit Louis & David against each other like David was some affair. I don’t read it that way. Louis knew of David & Lestat’s friendship. I think David always had a measure of respect and love for Louis.

I read that differently. He knew David would adore Louis and would be strong & responsible enough to care for him whilst he had his existential crisis. They’re the polycule I imagine w/ Armand drifting in-out. Whatever the current dynamic, the unspoken agreement is Louis has to be cared for.
