This is correct. Before the vote, McCarthy blamed Dems for everything; after losing, McCarthy immediately bragged that he offered Dems nothing. There's no upside to Dems doing McCarthy a favor and letting the GOP look normal while he runs stuff like the a baloney impeachment against Biden.

See people on Twitter saying I should stay and fight Musk. Can’t see the logic. Musk owns the site, me fighting just gains him clicks and revenue and protects his ownership. The only way to fight is to deprive him of money.
