I think we need some more Beatle harmonies today. Here's Michelle, with those gorgeous backing vocals in stereo. Come hear them isolated this Thursday at my Zoom class, "The Beatles as Harmony Singers." Link in comments youtu.be/lAL1RITrKhA

Join me March 6 & 13 for 2 BRAND NEW Beatle classes through Zoom via Monmouth University. For class #1 we'll focus on the Beatles as harmony singers, w/isolated & deconstructed tracks from across their career, with a special focus on the Rubber Soul album… www.monmouth.edu/mca/event/pr...

And now for something completely different. Last year I reconstructed the score for this nearly lost film & wrote an essay on the music, out now from Arrow Video in gorgeous 4K. Ft pre-Trek Wm Shatner w/Esperanto dialogue — think Ingmar Bergman’s The Outer Limits. A funky lil project. I love it.

I have another reel blowing up on the ‘gram and while I’ve found that going viral can lead to negative as well as positive interactions, the majority of the responses have been *very* positive, across wide spans of age, location and gender. I love that Beatle harmonies get this kind of reaction.

Happy George day. Celebrate by listening to this episode on his most epic production, Isn’t It a Pity podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...

I also redid the mix for Wait, improving the clarity in the bridges and a little better balance overall: youtu.be/cnoygVMVwjI?...

And now, the isolated stereo vocals for Drive My Car. youtu.be/2Bldiw3isys?...

Putting together a new zoom class for next month and it’s going a bit like this

All Of This. Well said, @andrewhickey.500songs.com

Y’all, something seems to be amiss with my copy of The Last Waltz

Happy 92nd birthday to Yoko Ono. Thank you for this cosmic blast of punk energy all those years ago youtu.be/VlY4oxfma_Y?...

I’ve always loved this bit #Help

Here’s my first pass at a restoration of the Step Inside Love demo: declicked, voices and guitars separated out, lightly eq’d then recombined drive.google.com/file/d/1zUm0...

I did a quick restoration of this, stay tuned!

When all was finished, Bernard Purdie shouted “I’ve got blisters on my fingers!”

This was a nice thing to come home to. Paul's double tracked demo for Step Inside Love in a huge upgrade from what we've had before. youtu.be/tO3vnIWDa3g

Once again, Jonathan & Julia were gracious hosts and I rambled like a madman, but I think we managed some good insights. Still, how can 76 songs be better than Lucy?

I can’t wait to listen this episode!

This one took a bit of fiddling to get the extractions but it was absolutely worth it for John's stunning vocal. Isolated vocals of The Beatles' "Girl" with backing vocals in stereo (including the "tit tit tit" section in the bridge). youtu.be/dONbCYNzlrs

I love granular little pieces like this, and apparently even Lennonology didn’t have this date.

Currently in New Orleans.

More Beatle harmonies, this time for Wait from Rubber Soul. John's lead (center) & Paul's harmony (left) were both taped during the Help! sessions June 1965. They added a 2nd harmony track (right) on the last evening of the Rubber Soul sessions, November 11, 1965. youtu.be/iIeQsZ3gN_U
