Flying my Cook Islands flag this morning. Fabulous short stay there in 2024.

Travelling like it's 1999 this year. 6dys in Tonga, 54dys France/Denmark. We both lost Great Uncles 1916/7 on Western front, watch some bikes, 28dys driving France, train to Copenhagen via Bruges, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Hamburg stopping over in Montreux, Luxembourg, Malmo 14dys Cyrpus & Jordan - Petra

I've tried growing Boabab (Adansonia Gregorii) trees from seed with poor results previously. After our trip to Tanzania I bought 10 seeds & planted them before Xmas. The pots are being maintained in water #AustralianNativeBonsai (note @support.bsky.team - @ih8shockjox.bsky.social needs help)

You may recall I started wiring the air roots of my Moreton Bay Fig - Ficus Macrophylla to give them some character. All looking well at the moment. In a few years, it may look quite spectacular. #AustralianNativeBonsai (note @support.bsky.team - @ih8shockjox.bsky.social needs help via email)

3 Gum trees also doing well. All have adult tree bark, from L2R Spotted Gum - Corymbia Maculata, Lemon-Scented Gum - Corymbia Citriodora, Sydney Red Gum - Angophora Costata #AustralianNativeBonsai (note @support.bsky.team - @ih8shockjox.bsky.social needs help)

My Silky Oak (Grevillea Robusta) is having an excellent summer maturing into an adult plant with nice branches and bark. Come next spring I'm hoping for flowers. #AustralianNativeBonsai (note @support.bsky.team - @ih8shockjox.bsky.social needs help)

It's not quite dawn in Sydney and I've raised my New Zealand flag to celebrate #WaitangiDay for all my Brothers & Sisters across the ditch.

(Reposted) Weeded my Port Jackson Fig, Ficus Rubiginosa, this morning, see Before & After. The sundew is a bonus plant I leave be. As with any east coast plant, I top with local sandstone #AustralianNativeBonsai @memycoffeenbonsai.bsky.social @docbaty.bsky.social

@ronnisalt.bsky.social my wife @picanto.bsky.social is loving her recent present. My turn next. #Gunnawah

@support.bsky.team Hi, I need some help with settings, can somebody email me please.

This is a memory from 2021. So much growth in plants and volume since then. #AustralianNativeBonsai

The small bar, The Monks Corner, (el rincón del monks) in Cardiz Spain was a fun few hours. #AussieTraveller

Plymouth England is a great deep harbour & prior to the pandemic we had a great few days there & from there down into Cornwall. The Barbican at Plymouth was full of great restaurants & bars. Tip, make sure you pick good weather. #AussieTraveller

Seville in Spain has a fabulous central market. Great fruit, vegetables, seafood, meats, cheeses, snails etc. #AussieTraveller

The Pink Lake near Dimboola is worth a look. Strange to walk on & touch. (It's sort of sticky) #AussieTraveller

Canberra Australia is more than just the national capital. I never fail to visit the War Memorial, the museums, the galleries & it's now got some great bar & eating precincts. Well worth staying and exploring. #AussieTraveller

I'm really just a big kid at heart. #Lisbon (Lisboa) has the best old world trams. Rode #Tram28 a few times. It's a great memory & I have some great video as well. #Portugal #AussieTraveller

No need to say where this is. Absolutely privileged to walk in, walk around & have our guide go through the history. Truly, put it on your bucket list. Peruvian people are so warm & friendly. #MachuPicchu #AussieTraveller

A weekend in Bologna Italy is a favourite memory. Narrow inner city streets full of food & drinks gave us a true Italian ambience experience. We sat, ate cheese, enjoyed a glass of wine, chatted to locals & in the square there was music, performers & lots of good cheer. #AussieTraveller

If you've been to Berlin Germany you should see, what I believe to be one of the great public memorials in the world, the Memorial to May 10, 1933. It's near the site where Nazis burnt books. You look down & see the empty bookshelves, it's a reminder of how barbaric the Nazis were. #AussieTraveller

Possibly one of most recognised sites in the world. We had a fabulous guide take us all around Cairo & the surroundings. For those that have been there, like me, the shock is the 180degree view from this one. #AussieTraveller #Sphinx #Egypt #Pyramids

Somewhat disappointingly, on the expectation of a magnificent sight, this is #TheHangingRock in Victoria from Picnic at Hanging Rock fame. It's a relatively easy climb to the cluster of peaks & there's plenty of good views higher up, but yes, the Rock itself, nothing special.

If you go outback, you'll know what magnificent feature you're looking at here. If you've been there you might have, as I did, find it a really spiritual place (& I'm an atheist). If you haven't been there, try to get there. #DevilsMarbles #Australia #NorthernTerritory

If you've been to #LordHoweIsland you'll know this view. I'll be returning in Feb/March 2024.
