I headcanon that 3 had an extreme internal battle after returning from OEs fiasco. Meeting 8 made her realize what she has been doing as an agent and even if it wasn't fully her fault, some of her doings in octo canyon made her feel extremely guilty and couldn't look agent 8 in the eyes.

8 is obsessed with 3s tentacles. She wants to touch and play with them all the time (find new ways to style them). She claims that if 3 cuts them at any point, 8 will die fnnsm 3 does reassure her that she has them long because she likes them but 8 likes to be (fake)dramatic about it lmao.
