OoooOoooh, shiny! My new workhorse is a Mini PC: Ryzen 9 7940HS (8c/16t @ 4-5.2ghz) w/ an integrated Radeon 780M GPU, 64GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB nvme SSD for storage. A new 27" curved monitor at 2556x1440 next to my trusty 25" Samsung at 1920x1200. Ubuntu, of course. In software and in spirit :)

TIL: A new exploit uses 2 blank unicode chars to represent binary 0 & 1, obfuscating javascript within text-representations of a binary blob, enabling them to sneak malware past both AV engines *and* white-hats'/detectives' eyes. www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/securit...

Here's a shot that shows the base of the snowglobe, lending some perspective on the size of these tiny works of #newmediaart. In a way, these sculptures are "analog #generativeart" ;) This is a 3D #stereogram, btw - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D! Shot through a DIY #macro lens.

Ice crystals really gave this sculpture the gritty, dark vibe it needed! This one's ~2cm end-to-end. Olympus charger's boxed up after moving, so today I'm shooting on my cellphone cam... plus a DIY macro lens, of course :) This is a 3D stereogram, btw - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D!

I put a microscope eyepiece on a UV nail-gel curing light & used it as my primary light-source for today's photo shoot. This sculpture is ~1cm across! Today's photos were shot on my cellphone through a diy macro lens. This is a crossview stereogram, btw. Cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D.

Freezing & thawing a sculpture leaves really cool textures in the air bubbles! This sculpture is ~1cm from end to end, by the way :) This is a 3D crossview stereogram - cross your eyes, overlap the images for 3D! Photos were shot on Olympus gear through a DIY macro lens. #newmedia #abstractart

I've been busy and haven't made it onto bluesky much lately, but here's a 3D CrossView stereogram macro photo of a wild mushroom I discovered growing on a hillside last fall in the upper Midwest. I shot these two photos on Olympus gear through one of my DIY macro lenses.

@fuzzbucket88.bsky.social every time i hear the @npr.org "All things considered" theme-song, I'm reminded of this random time, years ago, (like, waay back... back when we were dating) when you told me, laughing, that the super-short 7th note of that song always sounded funny to you.

This is a 3D macro photo of a tiny 1cm sculpture I made. Cross your eyes & overlap the images for 3D I create these sculptures in glass snowglobes by floating acrylic paints in clear gel. I direct force through the glass to move air, 'sculpting' the color inside Photos shot w Olympus OMD, DIY lens

Here's a clip from the cutting room floor. At 0:15 you can see the back of my thumb as I adjust a lens that guides light into the piece. I hope this provides a sense of scale/perspective so people can truly appreciate how tiny these sculptures are... 🤯 TMYK. cheers! 😇 PS repost = silent version

@pariglas.bsky.social can you help identify who made my favorite little vase? I've spent hours digging thru 90s-era collectors' forums & makers-mark catalogs, tilting it into the light to reveal impressions or diamond-pencil marks on the bottom, all to no avail. Here's a photo. It's about 12cm tall:

Here's an image from a fun, albeit messy size project - a fractally-interdigitated laser-induced-graphene supercapacitor prototype. Wow, that's quite a mouthful! Multi-prints on 1mil kapton drive a green LED for 100-200 ms. #fractal #graphene #laserengraver #supercapacitor #experiments

@marketplaceapm.bsky.social as usual, I realized your show had come on in the other room when a brilliant track-choice caught my ear. Warms my heart (and my ears) every time I hear y'all dropping that distinctly "Marketplace on APM" style!

Two of my generative-art playable mazes sold on the secondary market yesterday, and I think I have the bluesky community to thank for it :) So, to all the generative art enthusiasts and collectors out there, thank you from the bottom of my heart! fxhash.xyz/u/puremattness #genart #interactiveart

Judging by that look, I was toad-ally ruining lunch time. Photo taken on Olympus gear through a DIY macro lens. PS: this is a 3D "cross view stereogram" - cross your eyes, overlap the images to see 3D! #stereogram #crossview #toad #macrophotography #nature #photography
