Worth remembering when some asshat tell us we'd be "left to die" in the "old days." Disability, chronic illness, & adaptions to it aren't new. Like ochre pigments, these things have been with us as long as we've existed. Disabled people have always been here, & been cared for like anyone else…

Today is National Day of Remembrance for the 120,000 Japanese Americans who were put into internment/concentration camps by an Executive Order. This is a very real part of US history, and I can only hope that we never repeat it again, but it feels, more than before, a real possibility again.

I find the doomers in my replies yelling “there won’t be future elections!!” exhausting - (1) don’t give them credit for something they haven’t done & (2) there is no mechanism for cancelling elections! Our elections aren’t run by the fed govt; they’re run by states, counties & municipalities.
