I was tabling at a convention a couple years ago and I watched a man beeline towards me. he pointed at my prints of verrot and said "can I have one of each." when I lit up and started to grab them, he said "I never see men of color who are gentleman elves. thank you." and that's stuck with me :')

I’ve faced a lot of terrible things because of people projecting both desire and contempt on my portrayal of verrot’s sexuality and that’s why it’s so important to me that I talk about it. while of course he’s very attractive and these things are steamy, they’re also deliberate.

I love discussing the nuances of intimacy with my characters especially because both verrot and walkelin are on completely opposite sides of the dominant and submissive continuum and yet are both completely abnormal about it (seeing it as sacred right, will not cede their own pleasure, etc)
