Just released the beginnings of a new project as part of the RPM Challenge. 2 tracks so far with more to be added as they come. If you like it folky with weird percussion and the odd synth, then this might be for you! #patientwhales

Someone clicked on my Chase Bliss Onward video with "one-strum" in the title and still complained about the lack of riffs

Here's my "raccoon wizard" from the latest weekly drawing challenge from @dimitrispanta.bsky.social's Discord. Been having fun following these prompts so far

Was told a rough mix I'm working on for the #RPMChallenge "could easily be an HBO title sequence", which was some nice encouragement. Hope to be able to share the finished track soon

Thought I'd have fun seeing how far the Chase Bliss Onward pedal can push just a single strum from a guitar. Turns out, very far if you account for all the secondary functions and DIP switches. Hopefully this is interesting to someone!

Been getting back into semi-regular sketching by way of @dimitrispanta.bsky.social's weekly Discord art challenges. I first joined in time for the "Pirate Queen" prompt and did a quick fountain pen portrait of Zheng Yi Sao, who was apparently one of the most successful pirates

About to cancel Distrokid and it feels oddly good. Bay Mud releases will still be up on Bandcamp

A Monday off from work, should you be so blessed, is a great day to spend some time discovering indie music! Here are this week's 5 entries in the Other People's Music series: www.etherdiver.com/2025/02/14/o... Mid-'00s indietronica, chill lo-fi hauntology, chiptune, DnB and a little alt-rock!

Still time to submit for the Deluge Preset Competition, so I figured I'd help spread the word by looking at some (hopefully) neat little sound design ideas as starting points/ways to push a preset a little further (I am not affiliated, just think it's a fun idea) youtu.be/uxzgAp_fKPQ

Took me a minute to realize where this sound was coming from. Turns out my old acoustic guitar really wanted to be part of this ambient synth jam youtube.com/shorts/uHfT4...

New Other People's Music just dropped! This week offers stoner-friendly selections of hip hop and garage rock, plus some electronic chamber music and exotic downtempo! www.etherdiver.com/2025/02/07/o... #musicsky #MusicDiscovery

Any other Deluge users planning to submit for the preset competition? I expect some excellent presets from a few synth wizards and hope to do a few myself. Been having fun experimenting with the S&H and Random Walk LFO shapes as a start. Here's the submission form: forms.gle/RmzB39RFGNPz...

Got carried away recording this first RPM Challenge song until late last night. Looks like it's going to be more of a guitar-based project than I was expecting, but we go where the momentum leads!

I have masochistically tried to collect a song from all the RPM Challenge projects I could find on Spotify. Inspiring to hear what folks have created over February's past open.spotify.com/playlist/2fc...

For this year's #RPMChallenge I'm trying to go in loose, but with some criteria of the sort of music I'd like to make - Write/record songs that are reproducible live in some capacity - Try to include vocals Will it result in a new direction for Bay Mud, or a new project entirely? Who knows

This is still one of my favourite song challenges (create a track on the Deluge using only samples from an old movie). Editing the video was fun too youtu.be/8KFVoGs71u4

Got my Chase Bliss Mystery Box! Figured I'd do an unboxing then a quick first play with it, so here's a lot of rambling, including bad jokes about hummus and some fumbling with knobs of a fun new pedal (with the Deluge providing a guitar track to mangle) #cbmysterybox youtu.be/2VnC5xkipC0

It finally happened! I got called out as a "gear tuber" for offering my opinion on synth gear. Does that mean I can start collecting my free stuff and payola now?

Thought it might be fun to do a rundown of the live setup I put together for a recent ambient synth performance. Do you like gear? And rambling? Here you go!

Was asked to paint a pair of shoes for Hamilton Winterfest. Pretty happy with how they turned out (the theme was "space"). Should remember to post more art (which means I should remember to more drawing/painting)

I was so nervous during my set the other night but it seemed to go over well. After I was finished a lovely person I didn't recognize passed me a folded piece of paper with this drawing (and transcription of my awkward banter)

Anyone else gearing up for the RPM Challenge next month?

A snippet from my ambient live set the other night. Was fun to build a performance around some loose ideas and tricks youtube.com/shorts/G7HC3...

The "final" rig for tonight's Bay Mud set as part of Noise Night in Hamilton (8PM, Doors Pub). A rough plan of live ambient improv based on some loose ideas and tricks. Should be fun!

Finally finished my walk-through of some of the new Deluge features in the 1.2 community firmware. Hopefully this is interesting to someone, as the volunteer devs are really cooking! youtu.be/IiwvwLqUmq4

This mess of wires is coming with me for my set as part of Noise Night in Hamilton tomorrow night

Still working on my Bay Mud set, but excited to get out there live again on Sunday night in Hamilton!

A big box of pedal parts is always exciting

My friends' adorable children signed Lord Plunder up for all-ages karaoke the other night. Alas, the list was too long and we never got that far, but a mask was hastily cut out of construction paper, just in case #lordplunder

Caught a glimpse in the mirror and got a fright that I'm starting to share a few too many similarities with Slow Horses-era Gary Oldman
