A service called ShadowDragon monitoring Furaffinity and e621 to help fascists do fashy things is just… Very 2025.

I think Greta Thunberg is the best example of how there is no way of protesting that will satisfy the scolds. It'll either be called too aggressive or a self-serving publicity stunt.

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns los angeles is "real america" and so are all the other big cities the president hates

They will always call us violent when we stop cooperating with our own oppression. From Let This Radicalize You by Kelly Hayes & Mariame Kaba — a reminder for our comrades in Los Angeles and everywhere else: "peace" under capitalism means obedience, not justice.

Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)

the issue is not just ICE. we can live free and safe. or we can have police like we have right now. we cannot do both

There are at best a few thousand protesters. The freeway was blocked for about an hour because the LAPD fucked up its kettling operation, three Waymos were torched, and so they’re sending in the Marines. They were 100% looking for the thinnest of excuses to do this. It was always the plan.

We’re at the literal-actual Armed Forces being deployed into cities stage of fascism. The regular Armed Forces weren’t even used in the ‘92 riots, and this isn’t even close to that.

Give the photographer the Pulitzer Prize

It's worthwhile to pause for a moment and think about what a military operation to establish control over a major American city - let's say Los Angeles - would actually look like. The city of LA, which excludes most of the metro area, has nearly 4 million inhabitants. LA county has 10 million.

ICE crossed a line in LA

When you put the kettle on but forget the lid…

Writers will literally consider launching a huge multi-artist calendar project instead of writing their next book it’s me I’m writers

Close…

I'm a believer in nonviolent resistance for moral reasons, and I think it can be incredibly powerful when well-planned and sustained, but don't tell me violence doesn't work. The people successfully rolling back my rights were sending bomb threats to children's hospitals.

Authorities have arrested two men in Washington state, who had an arsenal that included dozens of guns, explosives, and body armor. They nearly killed a soldier with a hammer while stealing gear from Joint Base Lewis-McChord. If these were immigrants it'd be front page news. However... 1/2

But I was led to believe that if the demonstrators stayed non-violent that the authorities would be chill and not resort to escalation 🤔

...creativity is inherently unsafe...

The weird, often whitewashed way the civil rights movement is taught (or not taught) seemed to convince a lot of people that nonviolence was met with nonviolence, instead of you know, dogs, hoses, beatings, death, etc

The whole “lay back and just ignore Trump,” “don’t play into what he wants” shtick didn’t work in 2016, it didn’t work between 2020 and 2024, and it’s not going to work now. He has to be told no. He has to be held accountable. And he has to be stopped.

People tried so hard to follow the law, Byzantine and unjust as it is. They showed up at meetings, filled out the paperwork, went to the courthouse. You responded by kidnapping them in front of their children and dragging them to black sites. This is what’s left. This is all that’s left.

"they're just gonna use this as an excuse to crack down harder" yeah just like when you finally stood up to your childhood bully and got in trouble for it because he cried. you kinda had to do it anyway though. not just to prove to everyone else that you could fight back, but to prove it to yourself

mass protest is not the right way to oppose fascism. the right way to oppose fascism is to shake your head and say “no thank you” whenever a fascist offers you some fascism

Fuck ICE Victory to the rebels And remember that the only people "doing what the state hopes we do" are the people trying to discredit a diversity of tactics.

The spin has already started as if our entire city is in chaos. I went from Burbank all the way over to Koreatown on surface streets tonight and jackshit was happening. The CNN coverage makes it look like world war 3 and that’s what Trump wants so he and his fucking goons can come shoot Angelenos.

Definitely 2nd gen

AIDS Memorial Quilt on display October 11-13 1996 on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Let us never forget.

Because it's 2025, and most people in the US still don't know what their own military looks like... ~1 in every 7 US Marines nationwide, is from California. ~1 in every 4 US Marines nationwide, is Hispanic or Latino.

“Tasted a little tear gas— tasted like fascism”

They’re not behaving as if they’re in a four-year term. They’re behaving as if they’re in an everlasting dictatorship. Are we all clear on this?

dress up time again

The Border Patrol can go fuck themselves as well.🖕

I feel like I should have posted this sooner here. Happy Pride
