Elon using the social media platform he owns to DM random women with the promises of financial rewards to have his children so he can create a compound filled with women in Texas is the sort of thing that sounds like it should be a QAnon conspiracy instead of being a real story from WSJ.

It's almost become a trite observation, but it bears repeating that the evil and the destruction are the only goals. Everything else is lip service. Zero silver linings. If RFK Jr were at all serious about his "eat natural foods instead of Doritos" plank, this is the guy you'd want to lead that.

If Texas was a cyberpunk corporatocracy in contention between Buc-ees and HEB we would honestly be governed much better than we are now

I do not know how anyone takes these people seriously after they universally responded to the Olympics "controversy" by saying that they believed that someone born with a female birth certificate and female sex characteristics should be classified as male because of her hormonal levels.

If Trump says “here’s 15 million dollars to make this man disappear forever,” do you think the El Salvador jailers want to use that money to feed and house him for a lifetime or do you think they figure there’s a quicker way to cash out

As usual Trump and his administration are inept and incompetent and relying on their allies in both the media and the judiciary to rationalize, sell and enforce these mad king edicts because they're incapable of doing so.

Conversation [Apr 15] -- After pivoting from gay to trans, Christian lawmakers pivoting back with bills in 5 states that legally/financially favor hetero marriages in order to give Supreme Court an opportunity to find Obergefell was 'wrongly decided' like Roe. @rikiwilchins.bsky.social

They're not fascists, they just think we're in a state of exception due to the pollution of the polity and citizen body by undesirable racial elements whose removal is of such paramount importance that it transcends the dictates of the law, justified by their embodiment of the Will of the People.

Van Hollen should still go to El Salvador and bring friends and journalists

The power of congressional Democrats *doing things*! I'm disappointed that it took an innocent man being disappeared to a foreign gulag to make it happen, but this is genuinely important and impactful opposition work!

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

Trump’s sputtering response to Harvard standing up to him is yet another reason why institutions should refuse to bend the knee. He’s a paper tiger, unable to argue his own case.

this is, if you can prove it, one of those old fashioned Big Time Fraud Crimes. Like years *per* odometer

I have been regularly stolen from by guys who dress like the dude on the left but never in my life by someone who dressed like the guy on the right

Some would say "sneaky tactic" others would observe that odometer fraud is a federal felony. A creative prosecutor could probably tack on some conspiracy and mail or wire fraud charges too.

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

One thing I want to see happen is for Congressional Dems to start attacking Stephen Miller specifically and by name. He's the big impetus behind this and I think putting him on the defensive will have him going into a rage, quadrupling down in fury, and really pushing SCOTUS into a corner

Constituents to Chuck Grassley: "Are you bringing back that guy from El Salvador?" Senior Citizen: “If I get an order to pay a ticket to pay $1200 and I just say ‘no’, does that stand up? Because he just got an order from the Supreme Court and he just said ‘screw it’” “I’M PISSED!”

virgin popularist vs. chad reshaping opinion

Despite what you’ve probably heard, Trump’s immigration agenda isn’t actually popular. While Americans sometimes approve of “the way he is handling immigration” in abstract, they are very negative on the details. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/trumps-imm...

Talking to the cops is now a disappearance risk

sometimes you gotta fire off a Doolittle Raid just for morale en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doolitt...

Martin O'Malley just mentioned state attorneys general filing state kidnapping charges. Just imagine the collective cheer in this country if state troopers pulled over, arrested and cuffed a van full of masked ICE fascists.
