Drakonid storm helm, horns and ornamental crest. These are designed for use with the heavy aerial lance, and thus carry huge significance to the legitimacy of any draconic dynasty. Loss of such a crest would bring great shame to an entire line of Drakonids...

Playing around w/ dragon armor designs and I like this crop... Blackened armor is quite sexy to me...

While larger, faster wyverns are better suited for the "noble" aerial combat with the aerial lance, smaller dragons like these are preferred for use on the surface or in sieges. Their 4 robust legs makes them fast on foot, great climbers, and terrifying to behold for any in their path.
