Really enjoyed being interviewed for this feature on misophonia and misophonia research in @asteriskmag.bsky.social! asteriskmag.com/issues/09/th...

To all of the #INSAR members voting in the upcoming board election, (not that anyone cares but) I'm officially endorsing my good (bluesky-less) friend and colleague Mirko Uljarević for INSAR treasurer! With quant skills like his, the society's money is in good hands.

You’re allowed to say “I hate being disabled”. This isn’t internalised ableism, it’s your reality. Truth is, being disabled is… disabling. It’s overwhelming, debilitating, and yeah… for me (and I’m sure many others)… it’s shit.

As 2024 comes to a close, I'm wishing all the best to my Bluesky family. It's been a hard year for me personally, but I've been able to persevere and come out the other side with a PhD, almost an MD, my marriage intact (no thanks to the PhD), and a bright future. Here's to a better 2025 for all!

just a reminder: it’s okay if you get overwhelmed today. there’s a lot going on: noise, people, emotions. demands for your attention/energy. so take a few minutes. find a quiet space to catch your breath. check your phone. do a quick reset. you’re doing great. hang in there.
