In an "I'm getting old moment", I just realized that I'm old enough to remember when 10-minute videos on YouTube were "short form" content, and that when you verified your account you could have videos as long as 15 minutes. And now 10-minutes is considered long form. Time and change is weird man.

Took some time today to work on thumbnails for the CGs in my game. I already had most of an idea in mind for each one, but it's nice to draw them out in mini before fully committing.

Am tired, but rather than immediately go to bed I start working on light effects for the ending cutscene. The blend needs a little more work, but not bad as a start. Though the more I look at it, the more I like it, so I may just end up leavin' it as is.

A solid read with many points I agree with. I need to get better at enforcing etiquette stuff like this cause it's been weighing on me. Saw this on Twitter first but had to repost it here too.

It may just be wiser to ignore random music box music with you hear it... youtube.com/shorts/Ih6pK...

I find myself once again thinking about my favorite, but sadly deleted creepypasta, as it was a casualty of one of the pasta purges. Largely because the author accidentally double posted the story, so it started over right in the middle of it. They never fixed it so it got axed.

Suffer.

It's honestly as fun as it is frustrating to figure out how to event systems to do what you want in RPG Maker. I got it to play automatic footstep sounds for specific events when they move using variables to store numbers and script calls to use them so they would be assigned to yet more variables.

My game is creeping ever closer to the finish line. Been mainly working on little fiddly bits and the ending sequences. Also need to finish the art, but that's been crawling due to school work.

Bouncing off the walls of my container because a new episode of Hunter the Parenting is out toniiight! The perfect way to spend a lovely Valentines night in.

I am now one of many today to learn what a "sun candle" is, and it's honestly really fuckin' rad. They're also called sub suns, and is a type of light halo made from sunlight hitting ice crystals. Sometimes they look like mini suns, and other times they kinda look like cool portals.

Using blender to make a reference image for the title screen, and it's almost done. Just need to design the board itself, then paint the UV map so I can get it accurate. Until then, I can just use the proto-ref as a placeholder.

I am having a shitty day, so you know what fuck it. Sharing random cool thing I really like because it has good vibes. Baumgartner Restoration does a fabulous job restoring art, and the videos are good for raging seagulls. Or anyone else that wants/needs a chill time. youtu.be/3Rm6a31qhTA

A comparison shot between a part of the seance scene with and without the darkness. I think it needs a little tweaking to properly center it, but I like this bit of polish.

Added an extra overlay image for a hair more darkness, and I'm honestly in love with the result. I was dubious about it at first, but seeing it on the other maps has secured its place in the game.

Stayed up a little later to keep tweaking the fire effects, since I wasn't entirely satisfied with how they looked after stream, especially since the light from outside didn't match the light inside. After the tweaks I'm much happier with it.

Finally started work on the CGs for the remake, since I didn't want to keep putting them off for too much longer as I creep closer to the end. I think it should be ready for release in a couple of months, provided the play testers don't find any major bugs that cause delays.

Got to work double testing the digging system and realized the holes might be too dark with the screen tint. Now I just gotta change all the holes, and then start working on some of the CGs, since I'm getting close to the point of needing them.

Samuel, and by extension a borb, being a menace in the local morgue. youtube.com/shorts/StIix...

Got done with a playtest, and almost everything works as intended. Don't dev sleep-deprived though, cause my holes weren't placing cause I forgot to tell them to where to be placed.

I like writing dumb, but helpful things when I'm too lazy to put in real dialogue. Gonna have to note not to forget to change it later though.

The backyard still needs a little work, but when I get a chance today it'll be time to start working on the digging system. Then I can start another new playtest to poke it for bugs. Once the system is done I'll be over half way finished, excluding CGS anyway.

I got the items done and in, but only testing will tell how broke any of it may be. I would very much like things to work as I intend the first time. Plz, rpg maker have mercy on me.
