Good comedy always punches up, not down. Being a comic doesn't change who you are. It reveals who you are. Hateful assholes will always write hateful jokes picking on the underdog.
Decent people will always write jokes that pick on the system and people in power who have it coming.

Yeah, I had never heard of it but a chiropractor dislocated my shoulder; afterwards, I wore a sling, not knowing I should have kept it moving. I needed two cortisone shots and 7 sessions of PT, but that did the trick.
