Just picked up one of these cheap USB cable testers, and it's the best $10 I've spent in awhile. Halfway through testing and sorting my entire box of random cables, throwing out all of the useless 2-wire "charge only" cables, separating out 2.0 vs 3.0 type-C, etc. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807...

The LCD Jewel project is still in the works, it is moving to a new MCU. The ESP32-P4 is a powerful video enabled MCU that is designed for multimedia, which is what I want the Jewel to do. Here is my first PCB Test, I am just waiting on the P4 to drop for mass manufacturing.

I'm just now getting over having COVID, which I caught just as I was finishing up moving years worth of stuff out of my old office. Now all that stuff is boxed up, and it will be awhile before the new office/lab is set up, so if you don't hear much from me for a bit, that's probably why.

Weird. Looks like somebody is going through compromised data dumps and testing card numbers on Ebay. I've gotten multiple fraudulent charges from Ebay for several hundred dollars that were immediately reversed. They also tried an old card number that hasn't worked for years.

Looking to do a playthrough of Sea of Stars with the kiddos now that the multiplayer update is out, but I have to decide, NG+ or not? I'm leaning toward not, regular new game, but on easy difficulty. Having all gear at the start feels like it takes away some of the experience.

My 6-pin SOT test socket breakout boards turned out great. The pin number text is a bit obscured on the SOT-23 board, but I can live with it. Huge improvement over the original garbage they came with. I'm calling this one a win.
