A reminder: Vladimir Putin could end the war in Ukraine right now, just by ordering his soldiers to go home. No need for treaties or negotiations.

Mitch McConnell voting no on terrible cabinet picks because he doesn’t have to run for reelection is all the proof you need that we must have term limits. You shouldn’t only have a spine because you don’t have to run again. We are breeding chicken shit power hungry electeds.

💰 Cutting billions in programs for regular people while passing trillions in tax cuts for the rich while pretending to care about the debt. Pay attention.

Democrats should not vote on a single Trump cabinet nominee until this federal assistance freeze is rescinded. Do not let up.

and yet, at the moment he’s golfing

I’m proud to call the amazing cartoonist Ed Wexler a friend.

I wish Democrats were fighting on the assumption that Trump will block midterm elections, that he will amend the Constitution to enable his third and fourth term, that he will ignore every lawsuit and roll back any policy that could be defined as progressive, whilst enjoying Supreme Court immunity.

This is the way it should be handled: South Korea’s Impeached Leader Is Indicted on Insurrection Charges www.nytimes.com/2025/01/26/w...

Fact-check..

Can we get a recount? Pick your battles Can we object to electors under 14.3? Pick your battles Can we vote against Rubio for SoS? Pick your battles Demand volume II of the report? Pick your battles Call for SCOTUS expansion? Pick your battles Okay but could you pick like ONE battle? ANY battle?

None of these federal workforce executive orders are designed to help the American People. They are designed to stoke fear, sow chaos, and get experts who would otherwise push back on harmful policy to quit their jobs or be fired. Ask me how I know.

So how’s it going so far?

Insanity: The deportation flights Trump used military jets for—that Mexico refused to accept—cost the U.S. up to $852,000 per flight to attempt to deport just 80 migrants at a time. To compare, flights directly chartered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement cost just $8,577.

ATTN: This is most important court hearing to watch next week. The GOP does not want this case in federal court because they know a federal judge is not likely to toss out 60,000 lawful votes. Their plan is to have the partisan NC state Supreme Court decide. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Trump DOJ : Gerrymandering is okie dokie.

The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good. Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

The reality is that these positions are more important than Sec of Defense because they will do all the work and define all strategies. He won't freelance decisions. @schumer.senate.gov @sanders.senate.gov @fetterman.senate.gov What do you have planned ?

Though I feel this article is unnecessarily dismissive of the possibility of a hack in addition to vote suppression, it does confirm what I have been saying about suppression as a crucial attack vector in the 2024 election. www.gregpalast.com/trump-lost-v...

Dems would get much more traction finding and promoting people saying what they know and experience. What has more impact, This man speaking his mind or the Dems speaking “in unison “ ?

Of course ending birthright citizenship is blatantly unconstitutional. So is a third term in office. But I thought the same thing about presidential criminal immunity and holding office after inciting an insurrection. The obvious is not so obvious anymore.

Mockler: What message would you have for Trump? Warren: Live up to your promise. You ran for office saying you were going to make life better—well then, do it. Renaming the Gulf of Mexico, pardoning people who beat up police officers—that’s not making life better for everyday Americans.

Thank you once again for doing the right thing @lisamurkowski.bsky.social

Day Four of the Trump Administration: Say you'll consider release of the Kennedy Assassination files to distract from everything else you're doing (including your loss in court on promised revocation of birthright citizenship). Ignore the bright shiny objects y'all and focus on what matters.

This is fine. We’re fine. Everything is fine.
