holy shit THE VILLAGES

At least 5 of 12 regional Head Start offices have been closed as part of HHS layoffs—leaving families and providers in limbo. A lifeline for low-income kids is being quietly dismantled. Read on to see what’s happening and why it matters. #ProtectOurKids #HandsOff 🧵

Ah, Boston…. Home of the folks who rejected rule by kings.

North Carolina voters - check for your name!

This is my kickass incredible law firm !!! Koskoff, Koskoff, and Beider!

Have you seen this? 👇 Thanks, Seth! ✨

Robert Wolf on Fox News: "This big beautiful economy that actually was rolling pretty good with jobs and inflation coming down feels more like the Game of Thrones red wedding. I mean, it's not going well."

People who are looking for a way to fight Trump, I have it for you in one name: Kilmar Abrego-Garcia. He's the poor guy who got pulled off the street, declared a gang member for no reason, then sent off to that hell-hole in El Salvador. Fight for him because this case will unravel everything. 🧵

sometimes I feel like a dinosaur, cause no one looks anything up anymore 🦕

The narrative of “bringing jobs back” is aimed straight at the booomers who lost their jobs to the utterly misnamed “neoliberalism” of the eighties. Listen to Billy Joel’s Allentown if you are too young to remember. Or Springsteen’s My Hometown.

i have been joking that their plan is for your kids to grow up to work in a textile mill but they are serious

coloradosun.com/2025/04/04/c... Rats. Saw it coming, but it still stinks.

#ResistanceEarth #BlueEarth #Voices4Victory In the Magical Thinking Administration, you can solve problems by eliminating words. The USDA is no longer allowed to say “safe drinking water” or “greenhouse gas emissions.” Somehow, this is “putting farmers first.” sentientmedia.org/phrases-newl...

This is part of what’s so insane. As they talk about re-shoring and manufacturing they are actively trying to destroy an entire us manufacturing industry that already exists.

This is a good time to go to your library. For many reasons, actually. With the federal government cutting funding for inter-library loan and other support, libraries are going to need to show how much they are used to get state and local funding.

If you're worried about the death of NOAA's free public weather information, so am I! Back when I was dating a pilot, this free PDF from the FAA taught me a ton about weather, wind, and clouds. It's not the same as a satellite, but it's better than nothing! www.faa.gov/regulationsp...

the information divide is genuinely wild right now go to any mainstream source, even the ones we all complain about, and the headlines are all THE WORLD IS ENDING go to Fox and you have to scroll before you even find anything on tariffs, the whole thing barely exists

I don’t know how I didn’t see this before. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias. The shorthand is that people overestimate their skills/knowledge in a given domain, because they lack the knowledge to assess their own competence. ChatGPT etc have automated the Dunning-Kruger effect.

If I was going to start a political movement against AI that glommed onto the current moment, I'd be hard pressed to find a better slogan than “ChatGPT tax.”

My oven is a pretty standard thing but it has this feature called "rapid preheat" where it will run both the broil and the bake elements together until it's within 50° of your target. This feature is approximately 700X more useful and interesting than having it connected to the internet.
