There was this restaurant in Athens, GA called Aromas. It was a wine bar that served small snacks and fancy cheeses. It also had a cake case with 10 different cakes in it at all times. It used to be our tradition to go there with friends on a Friday and close the place down. I miss it so much!

Absolutely true (and it was my honor to be rendered toothless by this story).

Heeey, it's Hugo voting time! (and Nebula voting closes soon, if you're voting in those!) If you're behind on your reading, I've been told my finalist short story "Five Views of the Planet Tartarus" will kick your teeth out 549 words! www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fiction/five...

Once again, @rachaelkjones.bsky.social "Five Views of the Planet Tartarus" is a hell of a story. www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fiction/five...

Congratulations to all the Hugo Award Finalists, but a special shout-out to the trailblazing speculative poetry finalists who are the first in their field. @oliverklangmead.bsky.social Mari Ness @aijiang.bsky.social @devanbarlow.bsky.social @angelaliu.bsky.social @mariebrennan.bsky.social

Thrilled to see that this story is also a Nebula and Hugo award finalist!

Sam does absolutely amazing work, and made me a custom set of earrings and a necklace specific to my outfit! It made the whole night extra-special for me, and I looked so glam!!

Now that the #HugoNominations are out, I shall make my annual offer: If you are a Hugo Nominee (of any gender) who plans to attend the ceremony in person, I will make you a custom piece of jewelry (necklace, set of earrings, bracelet) for free.

Advice I would add to Ursula and Seanan's advice: there's a Discord group for Hugo finalists and it's a lovely, supportive community that's also very useful in various practical ways. If you're a nominee and don't have the link, lmk and I will get it to you.

Sorry but I gotta yell again because yesterday was VERY EXCITING FOR A BUG

ICYMI: "Five Views of the Planet Tartarus" is a Hugo finalist for Best Short Story! Much love to @johnjosephadams.com at @lightspeedmagazine.com for giving this tiny little 549-word story a shot! You can read the story here: www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fiction/five...

It is pollen season in the American South. I'm itching for a horror story about the extreme pollen season down here.

Happy to once again be a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Editor, Short Form. Congratulations to all my fellow finalists and thank you to everyone that nominated me!

This annual event is very precious to me, and this year's theme of Joy that Sustains couldn't be more timely. I can't wait to read and listen to the stories the team selects! Submissions period is May 15th through 31st.
