Excited for Much Ado About Nothing at Theatre Royal Drury Lane #londontheatre with Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Attwell. My favourite Shakespeare play!

Good to see this volume coming together - the result of a hugely enjoyable conference involving @profelainechalus.bsky.social, @nationaltrust.bsky.social and @hillaryburlock.bsky.social - and a lot of work since by Hillary Burlock and Tatjana LeBoff... #HistParl www.routledge.com/Bath-and-Bey...

This is so important - finding ways to amplify how important history is. I am so proud that I teaching history to “non-historians” including in Design and any students via our open module on consumption history with advocacy output and working on an article on teaching 18th c history #skystorians

The past is not all rosy, it is a history of human kind, with all its facets, flaws, wonders and issues which we need to acknowledge and not gloss over because it is difficult or contentious.

Takeaway for today: Working in #STEM #SHAPE +/or in disciplines? Look beyond silos. My work, sitting at the intersection of many fields highlights how frustrating + limited discipline silos are in tackling issues today. Look thematically for better understandings + tackling of complex issues

Had a fab time at @iaswarwick.bsky.social The Fear Network’s inaugural conference, presenting headline ideas on what we can take away from examining 18th c. familial letters. Thanks to @multistorey.bsky.social and the group for organising #skystorians #18c

The Society for the History of Emotions, @ehcsjournal.bsky.social is here. Already added to the starter pack: go.bsky.app/EqzZWma

Now more than ever we need to expand and develop our societal relationship with anxiety, in all its forms and crucially how communication, relationships, and anxiety can go hand in hand #skystorians #emotions

Read that number again. Ten. THOUSAND.

Very sorry to see more bad news emerging about cuts in UKHE. Solidarity with all colleagues affected. Our universities generate massive social, cultural, and (yes) economic benefits, and attract students from all over the world. Enraging that successive governments have enabled this sad decline.

UKRI planned for an even more dramatic drop in PhD places than we've seen: @sophieatrpn.bsky.social FoI request finds that stipend increases to meet cost-of-living crisis forced UKRI to stave off bigger student number cuts. www.researchprofessionalnews.com/rr-news-uk-r...

This excellent collection of essays is the next volume in our Routledge series. It's full of great articles and will be published immediately in paperback as well as hardcover, as we know that it will be of interest to many. Coming soon! www.routledge.com/Bath-and-Bey...
