When I was 15, 16, I spent a lot of time in front of screens - small and big - watching Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche in “Wuthering Heights” and “The English Patient”. They were formative for me. I’ve yet to watch “The Return”. This interview makes me and my inner teen so happy. 🥰

‘Crossing Delancey’ is finally joining the Criterion Collection, and according to star Amy Irving, ‘Peter and I have thought of sequels.’ Ahead of Valentine’s Day, we asked Izzy every lingering question we had about the beloved Jewish rom-com.

crossing delancey hits criterion today & i talked to amy irving about it all: the fits, the pickles, being directed by joan micklin silver & barbra streisand, how her divorce from steven spielberg changed her career, & her ass in brian de palma’s the fury: www.vulture.com/article/amy-...

Oh wow. Just wow, this is like a little David Lynch movie in itself.

This may be the most remarkable remembrance so far. It goes deeper than you might guess.

“David creates this atmosphere where his art unites. And I think people need to feel united right now. That’s one legacy that I think he’s left.”— @rachelhandler.bsky.social checks in on the owner of Laura‘s Palmer’s house www.vulture.com/article/mary...

this was not the David Lynch piece I expected to bring me to tears & yet here we are. beautiful.

Sobbing reading this interview. He connected so many people.

Mary Reber, the actual owner of Laura Palmer’s house, has been comforting Twin Peaks fans for years. After David Lynch’s death, she has no plans of stopping: ‘Grief hits people, so they reach out for somebody to hang onto.’

spoke to the wonderful Mary Reber — who owns Laura Palmer’s house and plays a memorable role in The Return — about David Lynch, death, trauma, and the Twin Peaks fans she’s been connecting with for years www.vulture.com/article/mary...

gaze upon our beautiful portraits, reckon with our truths!!

Would be “elite” if @nymag.com agreed to a second contract 🤝🙏

we’re gonna need him

Ok these two must become a couple or what are we even doing here www.vulture.com/article/juli...

This is delightful. I cannot wait for The Return

Incredible interview! Maybe it's because I'm ill, but I cried several times while reading it.

What a beautiful interview

Juliette Binoche to Ralph Fiennes: “The first time I saw you was in that doorway in my room. As soon as I saw him, I said, ‘Oh my god. I’d better watch out or I’m gonna fall in love with this guy.’” www.vulture.com/article/juli...

"More than once, they grab each other’s hands over the table or stare at each other in silence; a few times, Binoche is brought to tears."" socorro! amo quando meus favoritos se amam www.vulture.com/article/juli...

this is such a great interview

Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes told me about their 30-year friendship, their secret crushes on each other, saving each other from on set breakdowns, if it was awkward when Juliette won an Oscar and Ralph didn’t & a lot more www.vulture.com/article/juli...

Hello Bluesky. Sucks that this is our first post. A statement from the Vox Media Union and @wgaeast.bsky.social on today's layoffs. Please stay tuned for more details on how you can support our colleagues who were impacted today.

Uhhhh hard to understate how radical this is!!!! Really reshapes our whole concept of rights!! And freedom!!! Ha ha ha!!! I’m laughing!!! Cause I have to!!!!

since we’re all talking about health insurance today, seems like a good time to ask @cignahealthcare.bsky.social, who made $2.1. billion last quarter, why they denied me three separate times for coverage for my non-elective surgery that i’m having tomorrow

nobody is doing it like ariana grande in wicked, so i came up with some ideas for her next movie, including an italian “yentl” remake, a sequel to “the way we were” where she sets the plaza hotel on fire, an ari aster film & a gay romance with bette porter www.vulture.com/article/some...

talked to elizabeth olsen at length about death, his three daughters, the long-delayed todd solondz movie “love child” that she’s desperate to make, marvel-as-insurance, starring in olsen twin music videos at age 4 & a lot more www.vulture.com/article/eliz...

an honor to be featured on elizabeth olsen updates

When she isn’t playing Wanda Maximoff in a Marvel movie or TV series, you can probably find Elizabeth Olsen starring in a more intimate indie film. But no, she’s not just taking those Marvel jobs to make her passion projects, as she clarified at Vulture Festival. www.vulture.com/article/vult...

A great story from Kieran Culkin about Emma Stone, one of the producers of A Real Pain. Producing can mean a lot of different things; the psychological wrangling she did here is often a huge part of the job. (Also, he's fantastic in the movie.) www.vulture.com/article/kier...

here is a good blog that i read in a waiting room earlier today www.vulture.com/article/kier...

it’s important that you sit down tonight, watch netflix’s “hot frosty,” then engage in this discourse about jesus, fuckable snow humanoids, and the carceral state with me and @jdmchenry.bsky.social www.vulture.com/article/on-t...

what if the Meryl Streep of France and the Juliette Binoche of America held each other and wept? Cannes answered that question last night….https://www.vulture.com/article/meryl-streep-and-juliette-binoche-hold-each-other-at-cannes.html

This spirited pan of 'Irish Wish' is fun that is so pure and real, like pre-pandemic fun, and the producers should pay @rachelhandler.bsky.social a ton of $$$ because everyone will be longing to see their bad movie now www.vulture.com/article/netf...

This is the longest, most excruciatingly detailed bad-movie-review I've read in quite a while, and I stuck with it down to the very last word. I encourage you to do the same

This @rachelhandler.bsky.social piece made me laugh so hard my nose started bleeding. (I think I may have busted some of my post-septoplasty sutures? I don’t know. Either way. Worth it.)

While I hope never to see this film, I'm very happy to have read this review of it.

always read rachel handler

you: me: Netflix’s Irish Wish is a crypto-fascist, AI-generated harbinger of a doomed future where machines make facsimiles of art while humans do their terrible bidding www.vulture.com/article/netf...

asked some of the best actors, directors and teachers — Molly Gordon, Kate Berlant, Corey Stoll, Eliza Hittman, Deidre Hall, Nicole Kidman’s acting coach, & more — to teach me how to cry on command www.vulture.com/article/how-...

I know it won’t happen, but truly the greatest celebrity profile of all time would come out of @rachelhandler.bsky.social being on Taylor’s Tokyo-Las Vegas flight.

this is the realest, french-est interview i have ever done, with two legends of the screen and the conversational arts, about a truly great IRL love story and a beautiful movie …. i suggest reading it with a cigarette hanging halfway out a door and then calling your ex 🚬

whither timmy’s bleu de chanel masterpiece??
