I’d like to hear from voters of any race who were evacuated from polling places due to bomb threats and never voted.

Many community health centers, which also serve uninsured people, are expected to close if Medicaid funds gets brutally cut by Congress. My latest for @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Favorite sign seen at the Stand Up for Science rally in Chicago thus far? GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUNDING

So proud of my friend Dr. Liz Sokol for helping to showcase the harms caused by cutting NIH-funded pediatric cancer research, as well as harms caused by other cuts to HHS and Medicaid!

New from me: The measles outbreak in Texas is spiraling rapidly — but the CDC isn’t sending a strike team to get it under control. newrepublic.com/article/1921...

Breaking: FDA's March meeting to select flu shot strains for 2025-2026 season has been canceled per email sent to committee members, a VRBPAC member told me. drug companies need about 6 months leeway to make shots in time for fall vax campaigns. #healthpolicy

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid. So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

I’m writing for Slate on advice for fired federal workers & would love to hear from fired feds struggling with - how to job search in the private sector when it's so different from govt hiring -how to translate your skills to non-govt work I can keep you anonymous. Pls email [email protected]!

Have you been laid off from a health agency in recent days? I’d love to speak for a story I’m doing with the Guardian. Signal: melodyschreiber.06

Great essay by Dr. Caitlin Rivers! Vaccines remain extremely popular and we actually undermine confidence in them when we imply that they are less popular than they are.

You know Kate Winslet in Contagion? Where she runs into a hot zone, risking her life, so Americans could be safer? She was an EIS officer. That’s who was just fired at CDC today. EIS officers. And many, many more public servants fighting every day for your health.

U.S. Senators: If Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. takes over the Department of Health and Human Services, people will die who could have lived. If you vote today to confirm him, their deaths will be on your hands. slate.com/technology/2...

BREAKING: In response to our motion, the court has required CDC, FDA, and HHS to immediately restore critical health info and data that the Trump administration ordered the agencies to remove. This is a huge win for doctors, researchers, and patients.

The House Republicans listed below are vulnerable in 2026. They will only vote to cut our benefits if they think no one is watching. If you live in these districts, or know anyone who does, CALL NOW and tell them to keep their hands off Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid!

Quite the update -- Susan Collins claims funding was restored to a rural community health care center, but they said they haven't received the funds. www.bangordailynews.com/2025/02/05/b... #mesen #mepolitics

This entire thread is a must-read.

Let me say this in no uncertain terms: the President’s actions today are illegal.   Cutting off people from healthcare, childcare, and other services is cruel. The State of Illinois will fight this unlawful order with everything we have.

Commenting on still-evolving news of which we know fuck-all seems fraught, so I would rather not. In the meantime, though, I might suggest reading 👇, if you haven't already. It's poignant. Especially given still-evolving news of which we know fuck-all. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

This editorial cartoon about unpasteurized milk making people sick is 146 years old

Whooping cough cases are up sixfold from the same time last year in the U.S.

I’m just gonna go ahead and leave this here.
