Busted out three times in the Aetherdrift Arena Direct. Had some rotten luck, but made some misplays as well. X-2s were definitely justified. I really love the Arena Direct format, but it has NOT been treating me well 😅 still yet to cash the event on ~10 attempts

I'm considering building a "Magic is dead!"-themed Commander deck with Loot at the helm. Not to be obnoxious, just to entertain. Themes: - Universes Beyond - Secret Lair - Loot and other forced memes - "hat sets" (funny cards only) - egregious designs (i.e. Companions; might run Keruga) Any ideas?

In other news, I signed up for my city's half marathon in October after considering it for a couple of years. Not an active runner (yet) but I ran some 5Ks this week to see where I'm at and I think I can get there. -- Why yes, I did turn 40 this year, how did you know? 😂

I hardly ever play Commander, but I think the bracket system is a rather elegant approach to an unwieldy (and imho unsolvable) problem. Bad faith actors will continue to exist, but players who truly want their games to be fun and good will have an easier time achieving that now I think.

Used my Sealed Token for a 7-2 in BO1 #mtgaetherdrift. Deck started GW with the Gearhulk but the white wasn't all that great and I switched to BG at 4-2. Looking at what my opponents played I feel like you just want to force (BR?) Speed in Draft. We'll see.

Currently testing Eldrazi and Temur Breach in preparation for Spotlight Series (né GP) Utrecht. Still got Boros Energy but I'm not sure that's where I want to be in a two day tournament after its underperformance in Prague. Looking forward to the results from Portland this weekend!
