"Not sure if I said it or just thought it, but..." -Me, very often #ADHD

What’s the most helpful thing you’ve learned about ADHD? For me, it’s about motivation. Neurotypicals are (primarily) motivated by: • importance • rewards • consequences ADHDers are (primarily) motivated by: • interest • creativity/novelty • challenge • urgency

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine.

Is there someone else I could talk to? #ADHD

New research paper:| "Flow activities have far-reaching consequences for autistic wellbeing and should be encouraged, rather than prevented, when designing supportive environments" onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Me years ago: How do people not know the vhs tape in the box is not rewound purely by weight distribution. Me years later: I think I'm autistic.

Just learned about Justice Sensitivity in ADHD and I definitely think I have it 🙃 www.additudemag.com/why-am-i-so-...

Autistic sensory sensitivities are usually more than 'just being uncomfortable.' Sensory issues, such as loud noises, can be physically painful, can trigger automatic behavioural responses, can impact executive function, and/or have serious emotional impacts.

Spring here is still too cold for much to happen in the garden yet, but in the greenhouse, things are poppin' 🌱📸

Fell down a memory rabbit hole last night recalling clapping games I played with my friends in primary: Stella Ella Ola, Miss Susie had a Steamboat, Down by the Rollercoaster... I wonder if kids still play those? 🤔👵

She’s beauty, she’s grace, she smells like garbage. But man do I love these skunk cabbage blooms. 🌱

Sat in the nervous excitement that comes with waiting to start getting inked with a new tattoo! Botanical sitch on right shoulder 🌱🌿🖤

Saw the first bee of the year today!! 🧡🖤 Was so happy there were hellebores for them to gather pollen from 🏵🐝🌱

👌

My walk was wet and rainy but filled with hints of spring's return. A Hellebore in the garden, Skunk Cabbage by a little stream and a tree starting to wake up, I think a Maple 🌿 🌱

Setting the kitchen on fire. Throwing eggs and trying to body check others. Putting too many beans in a dish.

I eat this pants!

Some autistic people experience meltdowns or shutdowns. When I get overstimulated I tend to shutdown. If you experience either of these, or both, which is more prevalent for you? #AskingAutistics #ActuallyAutistic image: @introvertdoodles info: Kate Gaster

First sighting of Adelinia grandis this year! This used to be Cynoglossum grande (an easier genus name for me to remember, as it’s just the common name of “hound's tongue”, but in Greek), but now gets its own monotypic genus. 🌱📷📸

everyone automatically clacks these twice upon picking them up because deep down we all know we’re crabs

Conveniently compact kitty feet 🥰
