Despite being banned by new Hungarian legislation, Budapest Pride will still take place on June 28. Throughout history, laws and society have attempted to deny, erase or crush LGBTQ lives. They have always failed.

The EHRC withdraw its daft, cruel and unworkable directive that all employers need provide single-sex toilets. Well fought @goodlawproject.bsky.social!

Yup! We now live somewhere where Pride flags are removed because they’re ‘promoting homosexuality.’ Deja vu. 🏳️‍🌈 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

Honored to share my newest piece, this one around the framework I created years ago for myself to navigate my suicidal thoughts. Especially during these times, we need to have open conversations around mental health to save lives. I love you all.🌙💖🐦‍🔥🦄🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🦸🏽‍♂️✊🏽 Link: www.wondermind.com/article/psyc...

A court of all cisgender people sitting around pondering whether or not trans people have faced historical discrimination, deciding no, then taking away their healthcare, is wild.

I don't know how many people understand that disabled people are looking at losing £450 a month, every month, potentially for life. Money that pays for the help, aids, and adjustments that they need to exist in the world. There are disabled people who wouldn't survive these cuts.

...and she won! 🥳 Starting off the week with some great news: Dr. @asilayseker.bsky.social won Higher Resident Dr in the 2025 RC Psych London Awards! We admire her dedication to improving care for neurodivergent children & young people, & her consistent support of other trainees. Well done Asilay!

The NHS recently announced it will open specialist mental health centres as an alternative to A&E. But patients don’t always present with cases that fall neatly into “mental” or “physical” boxes, says @jamesldowns.bsky.social, and this risks reinforcing the divide www.bmj.com/content/389/...

Measles Update: 1168 cases and counting—we're now 106 shy of the 1274 from 2019, which would make it the worst outbreak in over 30 years. Given recent airport exposures, we'll probably get there. Meanwhile, RFK Jr is like "nothing to see here—vaccines are the problem." www.cnn.com/2025/06/05/h...

Today is the anniversary of Alan Turing’s suicide, in 1954. Turing was the father of modern computing. His codebreaking helped the Allies to win WWII. Arrested for being gay, he chose chemical castration over a prison sentence. He lost his security clearance, as all homosexuals were deemed a risk.

The complicity of NHS England, the GMC, the Colleges & establishment medics in this experiment on NHS patients has been scandalous. It should never have taken years of grassroots doctor whistleblowing to expose. But this is a small step in the right direction. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

We asked people who lived in homeless encampments that were cleared out in city “sweeps” to write about what object was the hardest for them to lose. “They took my baby pictures and my moms obituaries,” a 29-year-old in California wrote.

Genuinely good news. Extending FSM to all children on Universal Credit is long overdue. Will cut poverty and help improve concentration and health.

It's hard to celebrate when someone like Elon Musk waltzes into the federal government, wrecks the place, and walks away seemingly with everything he wanted. But did he, though? In the end, Musk left defeated, humiliated, and widely despised. That’s no small thing. We should take the win.

This is absolutely shameful. Harvey Milk was a hero. He died for our community. Brave LGBTQ veterans worked for years to achieve the naming of a ship for Harvey. Now they’re wiping it away due to straight up bigotry. They’re determined to erase LGBTQ people from all aspects of public life.

Here's something everybody should be paying attention to: Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen.

MAHA is a pseudoscientific assault on public health.
