Comics are for kids. Which means me. I am a big kid and I will be one till the day I die. At least when it comes to comics. A good comic gives me childish glee and I'm not giving that feeling up for love or money.

You can't understand the behaviour of US elites - Democrats being too timid, Republicans debasing themselves, bureaucrats who behave like pushovers - without reference to the constant threat of political violence that has come with MAGA. Every day is January 6. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Not true. I see you're a luxury watch dealer. I'm also interested in watches. Let me show you how free and easy migration has allowed you to earn a living. 🧵

There are worse places to have your morning coffee I suppose....

Coffee machine at Nero looks like a Dia De Los Muertos version of Stan from South Park

It was the Dunning of tymes. It was the Kruger of tymes.

Cognitive dissonance is one hell of a drug. Truss is entirely unable to accept that she screwed up her time as PM in such spectacular fashion that she’ll be a historical footnote. So to preserve her self-image she’s had to create this conspiracy narrative, which is now self-reinforcing.

A man goes to see Paggliaci the clown and says “your show was great, but i found it really uncomfortable to sit down for that long”. “Ah” says the clown, “I have a solution - go and see a medial specialist”. “Butt doctor”, says the man. “That’s right”, says Pagliacci.

Genuinely they are not even trying to hide their fascism

Airport modes of transport (other than planes) ranked: 1. Monorail. Goated. Put Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook on the map. 2. Little carts they use for the infirm. Looks fun, but forbidden. 3. Moving walkway. Less fun than Gladiators makes it look. Maybe better on an angle? 4. Bus.

Rushing to Asda before closing to look at their selection of weird as fuck gnomes

Ending child poverty will inevitably deliver significant long-term benefits given the multiple deeply terrible bad outcomes child poverty creates. A government that understood how to lead would do it.

🔴The Founding Myth of Morgan McSweeney Why reports of Keir Starmer's chief adviser's supposed campaigning genius do not appear to match up with the facts www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/the-foundi...

Magnum Cart. The singular of Magna Carta.

I don't thing Gunn is using the Williams music to be lazy, or to get a cheap pop. I think he's using the Williams music because that's what Superman sounds like. Like, Superman has a cape, Superman wears that big on S on his chest, Superman sounds like John Williams. It's a part of him.

Politicians really need to stop using X to assess public opinion on any given subject, at this point they might as well be relying on 4chan.

“Nigel Farage wants to talk about Labour being soft on immigration, so let’s damage the economy, piss off our core vote and give him a big opportunity to talk about Labour being soft on immigration.” I am a Labour policy megabrain. Thank-you for attending my Ted talk.

I guess it would be too much for them to ask whether it would improve the country rather than whether it will win votes. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Got to be honest, she looks just like him. www.theguardian.com/money/2025/m...

poilievre saying he can still win it if mike pence has the courage

There is no other word for illegally deporting a toddler with cancer apart from evil. Not just Trump and Stephen Miller but every single person involved in doing it from start to finish.

If you’re not going to vote Labour at the next GE because the government scrapped the two-child policy, you were never going to vote Labour anyway.

I know people are going to roll their eyes at this story. But that also shows how remembrance has shifted in our memory. 11th November, for example, post WW1, used to be somber during the day then a HUGE piss up for veterans in the evening. They'd descend on pubs en masse for reunion drinking /1

It’s what he would have wanted. #easter 🐣

Love this time of year when the popes are in full bloom

US bonds getting Trussed (I think this is now the technical term).

The discourse around tariffs has been “things will get more expensive” but I am here to tell you that I am knee deep in reporting on this subject and I strongly suspect that if super high tariffs endure, it will shift to *certain items cease to be available at any price*

The success of the Minecraft film is going to result in loads of stuff like: "Of course, gaming's moved on since we all played Space Invaders down the local chip shop. Today, you can chat to your friends, choose different hats, and even save your progress."

Big shout out to all those on the left who think there is no difference between a disappointing centre left, and a crazy authoritarian right. Done well folks. Lesson here for our side of the pond too...

CEOs upset about Trump’s tariffs sound like mob bosses shouting “I thought we had a deal!” at the Joker.
