Do you live in Missouri? Ann Wagner and Mark Alford are on the fence about the bill that would gut PEPFAR and endanger millions of lives. PLEASE reach out to them and tell them to save PEPFAR. act.pih.org/global-healt...

It's unlikely many of my followers, if any were to see this, actually follow me from my YouTube channel, but if you do: I have finally, after a long hiatus, begun work on a new video.

I think Americans are blinded by the idea of a “great silent majority” that will step up if some vague line is crossed—completely forgetting that the American people are not faceless creatures hiding alongside us, but us ourselves. You, me, our neighbors—that is America. So, where is your line?

My potential career in writing is ruined by the fact I could never come up with anything quite this insane in my life apple.news/Ai_yXFlgPQHO...

"why are your main characters always some shade of depressed?" okay... well, first of all, I was told to “write what you know”

Sure, the best time to start that project was years ago. But! The second best? Probably the moment just after that, years ago… I guess there’s an infinite number of times that were better before now. Anyway, now might not be ideal, but it beats tomorrow.

I would rather make something imperfect than nothing at all

Don’t stay quiet in the surety that other people will stop things when they cross *your* line.

4Chan was hacked, its source code was leaked, admin emails were leaked, AND a lot of registered users used their real names and .edu email addresses. Lotta CHUDs getting exposed to sunlight today.

“Hank, why are you spending so much time defending the freaking /minecraft movie?/“ Actually, I’m not defending anything, I am attacking the practice of dumping buckets of jaded misery on moments of goofy joy and I will absolutely die on that hill.

Might be time to post the Steam Reviews for America again.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

I can neither knit nor draw to save my life and I don’t understand how anyone can, both of these things are ACTUAL WITCHCRAFT

We are a quarter done with 2025.

The right hand isn’t even pretending anymore.

got one of those "just talk about books nobody wants to hear your politics" dms. buddy i am not on these apps bc i think people want to hear from me. i am here bc a witch cursed my family line long ago and now none of us can shut the fuck up

*very slowly and quietly locks front door deadbolt*

Comrades, it's ok to take delight in an outcome that you played a small role in ensuring. Some joy doesn't mean that you are ignoring the terrible. It means that you might have a better chance of surviving the terrible and remaining committed to bringing about some good. Have a good day.

“All masterpieces start with a scribble.” - my brother, aged seven, playing Minecraft.

I’m neither skilled nor psychopathic enough to be rich and famous, so I suppose I’ll place my hope in luck.

I’m writing a book, and it really is a constant state of flitting between, “Holy shit Shakespeare has NOTHING on me,” and “This is absolutely horrible I shouldn’t have been born.”

I absolutely love when I read a couple of good books and it pulls me out of my writing drought

I drove a nice(r) car yesterday that had a solid bit of kick to it, and I suddenly realized why my demographic is so expensive to insure. The urge to drive like a maniac was unreal.

Just finished *The Last Days of Good People* by @atsayre.bsky.social after seeing his article on @scalzi.com’s website and finding the premise intriguing. It was, frankly, awesome — and extremely bittersweet. Short, yet astonishingly profound and really emotional at times. Super worth the read!

I think I'll leave this here. This meme was deleted on twatter[dot]com, prolly due someone there didn't like it If you've watched this particular Spongebob episode, you know what the context I'm bringing here.

Cellphones are just so awkwarde. Not small, but not bigge. Somehow everyone decided that all the tyme we are goinge to carrye arounde these litel glass and plastic thinges that are the precyse dimensiouns of a hotte pocket.

My grandma: “I’m nuts but I deserve to be.” Real, Grandma, real.

I am not a political expert. I am just a goblin with a pen who occasionally emerges from the woods to share a doodle of a cute animal or say “maybe we shouldn’t let fascism win” and then scurries back into the moss

A thing is not beautiful because it lasts. Life can be lived in revelation of the dark times and the bright; it is the chance to so much as experience at all. I don’t want to die, I don’t want it to end, but I should enjoy what I have while I have it, for who knows what may come next?

every famous rich guy fits somewhere on this Venn diagram

When I taught at Tulane I took my students to the Confederate Memorial Museum on a field trip to discuss how it portrayed the Civil War. I’ll never forgot one student who remarked after we left “if I hadn’t learned already that the Confederacy lost the war I wouldn’t know it from that museum.”

A major censorship issue today is that, if social media sites align themselves with a government increasingly leaning towards fascism, said social media sites can stifle one side of the debate while propagating the other — making it seem as if the world is against you, and furthering fascist ideas.

I’m rereading 1984 and boy is it great but unrelated wow am I suddenly really sad and disturbed

Occasionally I wish I could write well, other times I try to remember I’ve barely had the time to start writing at all, and that maybe I should stop being so hard on myself. I’ve done pretty damn well for someone who’s got no idea what they’re doing.

I wish God had worn a condom.

I always try to be cordial, but occasionally only enough to get within striking distance.
