The best part about industry layoffs is how, almost all of these companies were hiring. It inspires a lot of confidence, that we can fight tooth and nail for a role, and even if you "win", that role might not exist in a few months.

Like 15 years ago I used to make a lot of youtube videos, and I still get marketing agencies emailing me about the indie games they represent The number of emails I've gotten in the last couple weeks is insane, Not sure why this year, but it must be because of Steam Next Fest..

every single transportation conversation ever

Maining Holy Paladin in Dragon Soul is one of my fondest memories, it really fills my heart to see hpal demolishing in the world first race for Cata Classic Dragon Soul

All the main systems are more or less in place, so it's about time to start replacing placeholders and bringing the world of JRPG Idle to life, starting with the world map! #indiedev #madewithgodot #gamedev #jrpg

I CANNOT BELIEVE we live in world where Magnus Calsen signed to Team Liquid, what a strange reality we live in

It is so strange watching Lost for the first time. I can so clearly remember my WoW buddies talking voraciously about it when it was current. This show feels like a time capsule of the 2000s, and that was BEFORE their obsession with the red sox winning lol

I am so tired of this winter. It feels like the longest one in recent memory, but that's probably just the world crashing down around me.

Paying attention to politics feels like the worst decision I ever made. It's like facing a wall of misery daily. I'm still trying to unplug as much as I can and supporting where I'm able

Every RPG needs a flag system, so now JRPG Idle has a little debug menu to help visualize it! It's almost time to start building out game content, so this will be very important to test the game state as the player progresses. #gamedev #jrpg #indiedev #godotengine #madeingodot

Man, who invented sleep posture What do you MEAN I need to force myself to sleep in a less comfortable position or else my body will become pain and fire????

Walk up to my favourite shawarma place. As I say hi, I can see my combo order is already rung up on the till, customized the way I like it. Happy Friday!

I've been saying this for decades. One of my favourite mechanics in any game, is earning exp for stunt driving in Saints Row. Travel becomes an opportunity to express skill / progress your character, and it makes the city feel like it matters above and beyond the key locations where things happen.

Today I told my piano teacher I was working on "clean inputs" lol, street fighter on the brain

Happy Monday friends! Still plugging away at my side project, JRPG Idle, and I'm finally done my first pass on the Job Change system. Man it's really starting to hit that JRPG feel now! #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine #madewithgodot

Bro is it possible that skating is just sick as shit, and has nothing to do with congestion pricing? Like maybe there are just things in life that are insanely awesome, and don't actually have anything to do with politics?

The ad situation on Youtube is becoming so hostile... Their transparent push to get everyone on premium has made their service so shit, especially WITHOUT adblock. I get that we're all freeloaders, but how can you not when the instream ads are longer than the content.

I'm actually so tired of Canadian politicians calling early elections. I don't think it inspires confidence when every election is held when it's politically convenient, and "surprise" elections with 1 month notice just feels like it serves the elected, NOT the electorate.

Damn I'm so close to finally having more followers on here than on Twitter!

Suck my nuts assholes

I think this is something that people don't think about in general You're SUPPOSED to win. The enemies are there for you to beat them. They should put up a challenge, but they aren't there to be ultimate death machines. games aren't some PvP match with the dev, you're working together to have fun

We recently implemented Divine Arts for #AlabasterDawn that you can use just like Combat Arts in CrossCode. The first one causes the "Brittle" status condition that neutralizes hit type resistance - allowing you to break enemies with whatever weapon you like. #gamedev

Quite like what Blizzard've done with the Plunderstorm reward struckture. The "Plunderstore" lets you target items in any order, and they're all hella cheap, you can basically buy something every game The old system was fine too, but they clearly listened lol

It would be hilarious if every podcast was required to list "how many of our guests are in legal trouble" next to it's follower count

Do video games inspire more Dunning-Kruger than other media? My feeling is yes, though my bias is clear After a movie, I feel like people criticise the product, not how it's made. People don't criticize the use of Houdini sims, but lots of people have opinions on Unreal/Unity.

The more I get into bike stuff, I'm just constantly surprised how expensive normal bikes are, and how inexpensive ebikes are comparatively. There are so few reasons not to get an ebike instead.

Personally I think that anyone who is turning the california wildfires into a political attack should be rounded up and sent to the moon

I feel like 2025 is the year where we decide if we really care about AI prompts or not Every hiring manager in the world is currently trying to decide how to tell who is a real person or not, while every AI company is trying to convince you AI will improve your countenance xD

One of the funniest things I have seen in months is a news article talking about how "McDonalds' new value menu is the biggest mixup in decades!" Immediately followed by another article "Nothing on the McValue menu is actually new, all these deals already exist"

Yesterday the cold had me contemplating if I should move somewhere warmer Reading about more fires this morning, feels like a reminder from the universe. Scary stuff...

Hello friends, lets get 2025 started! To mix things up a bit, I thought I'd write about Metaphor Refantazio, and the UX changes it made to the Social Link system present in the Persona games. Enjoy, happy new year! #gamedev #ux #design www.ramblingaboutgames.com/blog/metapho...

When I say I've been on a pirate kick lately... www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ_J...

Feels like WoW fever might be returning. It's been a while since I spent a tier as DPS, but I think I'm feeling some Rogue - must be this pirate kick that I'm on 🏴‍☠️

I've never really been a Sonic guy, but seeing all the people who seem to be legitimately pumped about the movie trilogy fills my soul with just a little bit of happiness

The amount of spam I have gotten since I cancelled my meal kit deliveries is just insane. I literally got TWO letters today I haven't been able to find the option for "stop sending junk mail to my home", but the next time I get one, I'm changing my address to my rival's place

After watching Whiplash I had high hopes for Grand Piano, but it's kind of dumb. I like the music at least.

I watched Whiplash the other day, and felt like all the scenes where the drummer had bandages all over their hands was a bit overdone After like 4 hours of playing Piano today, I'm not exactly bleeding, but my thumb does hurt enough for a bandaid 🤣

Holidays were fun and it was great to see the dog (and also family) But holy moly does it feel good to be home, on my normal setup. First thing I did was play piano for an hour @_@
