I live in eastern Kentucky. I was in the 2022 kentucky flood where two family members drown in sight of me. I was in the water for ten hours before a helicopter rescued me and others. I have written some books. Mountain Medicine. The Zodiac Killer Enigma

This was an image of one of my neighbors in the 2022 flood. He was disabled and wouldn't leave when he could. No one thought the water would get that high. I was in that house on a counter with his face sticking out of the water to breathe. That is the State police chopper, to bust the roof.

A few photos of what happened that day. The second photo of the top of the house sticking out of the water. There was a disabled man in there when this was taken. He was on a counter with his head sticking out of the water. They barely got him out before he drown.

The guy on the right was one of my dad's buddies. Gatewood Galbraith (I probably didn't spell that right) they wrote a message to him on the back of that picture. I found it wrapped in a letter from him after my father died.

It all feels like a nightmare, I can not wake up from. After the flood, I have nightmares about water. And hard to admit, I cry in my sleep, when I can sleep from the pain I have, I guess it has to come out, one way or another and I feel so angry all of the time. I couldn't post this on Facebook.

Something I need to say In recent years, 12 of the people I grew up with, have taken their own lives. Two weeks after someone set my home on fire. One of my 3 neighbors took his own life by gun. It was three weeks before someone stumbled across his body. He was around 20 years old. Younger than me.
