Being offended that Democrats didn't give a standing ovation for the kid beating brain cancer while supporting the administration that's stripping all funding from the research that allowed the kid to beat brain cancer is quite the delusion.

DOGE staff, if you're listening: There's a difference between "I don't understand it so let's cut it" and "I don't understand, please help me so we can appropriately prioritize." The second one takes more work, but also it saves you from looking like complete idiots.

NEW: One million children will go untreated for severe malnutrition, up to 166,000 people will die from malaria and 200,000 more children will be paralyzed by polio over the next decade, internal memos estimated. The USAID programs were cut anyway. By Brett Murphy and @annamaria.bsky.social

A strong man would have no problem with women in leadership because his sense of self-worth would not be based on a social hierarchy that only elevates him because of his genitals

Christianity teaches us that strength is not found in the ferocity of the lion, but I'm the humility of the Lamb. So if we want to follow Christ, we cannot follow the snarling machismo of the world's authoritarian false prophets. No, we must follow the peace, the quiet strength, of the servants.

These days I save most of my writing for my blog, but this one was deeply meaningful. This poem, "Flowers Instead," is a meditation on grief after 2 deaths within a few days of each other: my grandma, who was my last living grandparent, and our first dog, my shadow, Oscar.

If I owned an American flag, I'd sure as hell be flying it upside down right now.

This may seem counterintuitive, but for me poetry is much easier to write than prose. Poetry is so much a flow of emotion and if I spend much time on one, it tends to become over-worked, hyper-logical. The beauty that springs from instinct rather than thought is, I think, what makes my poetry sing.

Each week, The Contrarian selects an "Undaunted" individual working to defend democracy This week's spotlight: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez AOC speaks to Americans as responsible, engaged citizens. She lays out the stakes clearly & empowers ordinary people to courageously fight for democracy.

Not sure which is more insufferable, #TrollsForTrump or #CageStageAtheists

Just a casual reminder in case we've collectively forgotten: Supporting the death penalty is not pro-life. It's also not pro-choice. It's pro-death.

In Ojibwe, my name means ‘speaks in a loud and clear voice woman.’ Today, I’m officially launching my campaign for the U.S. Senate to go to D.C. and speak in a loud and clear voice for ALL of Minnesota.

All these Republicans want to think they're alphas, but they're over there kneeling before their king, cowering before his every, self-indulgent, nonsensical whim

I posted this same thing on Threads, and y'all... the folks across the pond DID NOT like it 😂

DOGE recommended firing workers at: -FDA, which oversees Neuralink -FAA, which oversees SpaceX -USAID, which probed Starlink -CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X. "Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

I'm no historian, but I know enough history to remember what the United States of America does to kings who try to rule over us

I don’t know what to call this but flamboyantly evil.

Not a paid partnership here, but I actually really like my dentist. How often can a person say that?

Fill in the blank: _____: a populist regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual, is associated w/ a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and is characterized by severe economic/social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition

Anyone have a link to an exposé about Trump's daddy issues? I know it's gotta be out there somewhere.

If we're gonna rewrite the tax code, how about letting each of us specify where our tax $$ can be spent? On my list: - Libraries - Schools - National Parks - Universal Healthcare - Affordable Housing - Environmental Sustainability Not on my list: - Military

I suppose losing hundreds of class action lawsuits is one way this administration can get money into the hands of blue collar workers, but I can't help but think there must be an easier way to do it

Some people seem like they need to be reminded that Hitler lost. And the people who supported him lost. They were the bad guys. If you wanna be a good person, wanna be a hero, wanna be a patriot, or even just wanna be on the winning side of history, DON'T FOLLOW THE GUY EMULATING HITLER.

Engraving on the exterior of the United States Department of Justice headquarters.

"nobody even knows where the [national debt] money went and you’re not allowed to ask." Huh? Its all public record at OMB, CBO, & Treasury websites, which I've also used to publish 600 reports, articles, & chart books specifying where all the money went. You can log off Twitter and go look it up!

All these pastors our there believing they're Bonhoeffer while they're actually supporting the fascist dictator who openly parades Christian nationalism

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

READ Danielle Sassoon's letter to AG Pam Bondi, via @nytimes.com: "Rather than be rewarded, Adams's advocacy should be called out for what it is: an improper offer of immigration enforcement assistance in exchange for a dismissal of his case." static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

Reminder: It's not the blue collar workers who are bankrupting our country – it's the billionaires who are hoarding their own wealth and power on the backs of the blue collar workers.
