This may seem counterintuitive, but for me poetry is much easier to write than prose. Poetry is so much a flow of emotion and if I spend much time on one, it tends to become over-worked, hyper-logical. The beauty that springs from instinct rather than thought is, I think, what makes my poetry sing.
