I really don’t think most Americans know we are only days aways from millions losing their health insurance in the biggest cut to Medicaid in history, plus millions losing food assistance in the biggest cut to SNAP in history. The next few days are crucial for fighting the “big beautiful bill.”

As you go about your day, burdened with worries, please understand that MeanCat doesn’t care about you or your burdens

#SCOTUS announces that tomorrow is the *last* day on which it will hand down decisions in cases argued this term. That means birthright citizenship, non-delegation, age verification for porn websites, and three other major rulings will all come down in quick succession starting tomorrow at 10 ET.

If you’re zip-tying grandmas protesting losing health care maybe you’re not the good guys in the story?

Seventh set of Byrd droppings is out, and WOW! We won on trans care in Medicaid, provider taxes, FMAP, immigrants in Medicaid, and other issues. These victories are amazing for the people they help - and cost Rs more than $250 billion of their savings by rough calculations, largely not curable.

This GOP tax bill is worse than any other in modern history.

I’m glad you asked: “Bring Animals Relief and Kibble”

My old boss- 💔😔 there are no words for what is going on right now.

This is Miso. She is reporting for her weekly paw inspection. All toe beans are accounted for and are as teeny tiny as ever. Inspection passed with flying colors. 12/10 (IG: lifewith_miso)

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, stepdads, granddads, father figures, and anyone who fills a fatherly role with love and care. Today we celebrate you and the impact you make every day.

Good folks are generating a lot a smart analyses and numbers re the big, bad budget bill. Here's a collection of some I find particularly compelling, along with a highly relevant observation about the false promise of trickledown from...*1516.* econjared.substack.com/p/there-are-...

Domestic violence doesn't discriminate between Red and Blue zip codes, so our response as lawmakers needs to remain bipartisan, as it has been since the passage of VAWA in 1994.   Supporting survivors will never be 'waste, fraud and abuse,' no matter how much Donald Trump thinks it is.

Got asked on an AMA tonight: “can you talk about why SNAP is so important?” So I shared my personal experience. 7 kids in our family and food stamps kept us fed when my dad got sick, lost his job, and mom had to look for work. SNAP is an investment in people. I won't support ANY cuts to SNAP.

I've decided to turn any hate towards this into a positive. Every time I get flipped off or thumbs down for this flag I'm gonna make a 3$ donation to www.thetrevorproject.org at the end of the month. #Pride #QueerTrucker #TheTrevorProject #LGBTQ

The Administration’s funding freeze is forcing non-profits like this domestic violence shelter to make impossible decisions: We need to do everything we can to help women in crisis, not pull the rug out from under them. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/02/o...

So, as you might know, I have been in the process of tracking the activities of DOGE staff across the federal government. And now I've built an auto-updating website to browse the data It's not done (lots more content to write), but news is moving fast, so here it is dogetrack.info Enjoy!

New state fact sheets show how the House Rs' extreme budget plan would cut food & health care for millions while delivering bigger tax breaks to the wealth — forcing families, veterans, seniors, & others in every state to bear higher costs & more red tape. www.cbpp.org/research/sta...

Trump Admin and DOGE’s interference is making federal grantmaking more uncertain, less efficient, and more political, while putting vital funding for local governments, nonprofits, and research at risk. www.cbpp.org/research/fed...

The House-passed Republican reconciliation plan would cut #SNAP by roughly 30%, putting food assistance at risk for over 2 million children and weakening the program’s ability to respond during economic downturns, even as recession risks remain elevated: www.cbpp.org/research/foo...

The bill House Republicans passed last week would be the deepest cut to #SNAP in history. Our new paper explains the 4 ways this bill would take food assistance away from low-income people, including families with kids, seniors, and people with disabilities. Link below ⤵️

My family relied on food stamps briefly when I was a kid—our country had our back, and all 7 of us kids grew up to give back to our communities.   Investing in nutrition assistance? Investing in SNAP? That’s an investment in people, and cutting SNAP won't help anyone.

In their bill, Republicans passed steep cuts to food assistance, Medicaid, and put Medicare at risk. For me, that’s a moral line. It makes no sense in this time of incredible struggle when families are having such a hard time making ends meet to go after food assistance and Medicaid.

House Republicans just passed the biggest health care and Medicaid cut ever. The biggest cut to SNAP and nutrition assistance ever. A massive tax cut for billionaires with tax hikes for millions of working families. The biggest wealth transfer from working people to rich people ever in one law.

At the center of the sweeping bill is trillions in tax cuts, which Republicans aim to partially offset through changes to safety net programs like Medicaid and SNAP.

1 in 5 Americans depend on Medicaid for health insurance, but they don't all know they're on it because it may go by another name (e.g., Medi-Cal, Apple, BadgerCare). I identified the name of each state's Medicaid program. If you or someone you love is in one of these programs, call 202-224-3121.

New from me: the House GOP bill would cut Medicaid & CHIP by 12-14%, growing higher over time - the largest in history. There's $792 bn of gross Medicaid & CHIP cuts (mostly Medicaid). There are $76 bn of total health offsetting interactive effects (mostly Medicaid), so the true cut is $716-792 bn.

I don't want this to get lost: after RFK Jr. finished with his tantrum, he ADMITTED he is blocking BILLIONS in federal child care funding. That needs to change IMMEDIATELY.

REPORTER: You campaigned on lowering the price of groceries. How can you justify cutting food assistance in this bill? TRUMP: The cut is gonna give everybody much more food

We’re suing the IRS and DOGE to expose the startling depths of their access and sharing of sensitive taxpayer data at the IRS. Here's what you need to know⬇️

To my Republican colleagues: one day Donald Trump will be gone, but when your descendants go to search you up, your legacy will be taking away the health care and SNAP millions need, all to enrich the richest among us.

HIPAA privacy rights are foundational to the trust between doctors and patients. That's why we filed an amicus brief on behalf of physicians and local governments who are concerned about attempts to upend these privacy protections.
