Here’s another action happening this week! Join SCAR in supporting the folks arrested at the protests.

I will be live over on @rangemedia.co's Instagram at 12:30 (pst) for an exclusive with Ben Stuckart, who kicked off Wednesday's unrest. He was able to speak with Cesar from ICE detention for the first time late last night. We'll talk about all of it in ~ 3 hours www.instagram.com/rangemedia4a...

Yesterday, Ben Stuckart visited Cesar Alvarez Perez, an immigrant ICE detained last week, sparking a protest where 100s of Spokanites showed up for immgrtn rights & SPD arrested 31 people. Luke will interview Stuckart live on Insta about his visit @ 12:30, tune in! www.instagram.com/rangemedia4a...

The ordinance was initially struck down, but the council revived it with a three- instead of seven-day timeframe and deferred the vote early in the morning. It's been deferred for a decision in a future council meeting.

Hey, it’s Aaron with an update from late last night: after intense testimony against it, Bingle, Cathcart, Wilkerson & Navarrete killed Mayor Brown’s homelessness ordinance to replace Prop 1, the initiative that the WA high court recently struck down. I’d bet they’re going back to the drawing board.

Klitzke says it’s unfair to disparage this process because they’re changing the ordinance in response to public testimony that they heard. Dillon said reconsideration is allowed under the rules that passed council unanimously. Wilkerson says this is in response to feedback from biz owners

Gearing up to skeet about the added item to the city council agenda approving but ending the mayor’s emergency declaration over the protests last week.
