I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too.

Playing Persona 4 Golden again because Civ7 isn't out yet.

I'm just sayin' T, why don't they just do another cease fire in LA too?

this urge to launder rfk jr. as “just a guy who is right about a few things” is such a perfect example of how liberals are people who won’t take their own side in a fight

1. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: This would usually go to the FF14 expansion, but Rebirth is what everyone expected from Remake. It's gorgeous, and there’s so much to dig into. It borders on being too much, but nothing else comes close.

2. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail: Before Dawntrail, I would have said that every FF14 expansion was better than the one before it. Dawntrail isn’t. That isn’t to say it's bad. Mechanically, the game is better than it’s ever been, but I'm not itching to see what was next like I was after the others

3. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: It's everything I wanted in a Zelda game that wasn’t in BotW or TotK. Which are great games, but not for me. Difficulty in all games should be measured by how many old beds are needed to solve anything.

4. Astro Bot: The world needed a new mascot platformer and this delivers in spades. I wouldn’t call it difficult, but you can always jump back in, play a level. Like coming home. Its also the game of the year, Geoff said so.

5. Balatro: Ah, if one more run was a game. Poker hands are super easy to understand, but it adds enough on top that it is endlessly addicting. It still has the rogue-like/lite problem where you (or at least I) eventually hit a skill ceiling and my enthusiasm evaporates after that.

6. Minishoot’ Adventures: What if Geometry Wars and The Legend of Zelda had a baby and that baby was a pretty good game. You’d get this. Just long enough, if a little linear. But it doesn't overstay its welcome.

"You'll be visited by three spirits." Beverly Crusher:

7. DQ3HD2D: Gaming Comfort food. Its updated, and the quality of life changes are great. Its like wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket of gaming.

8. Nodebuster: Short. Its slight, I finished it in like 3 hours. A cross between an autoshooing survival (ASS) and an idle game. Doesn’t overstay its welcome, but does leave you wanting more. One of those games where you understand the concept, but it needs another iteration or two.

Hot take: Christmas movie or not, Die Hard is still really good.

9. The Plucky Squire: It wants to be Zelda, but it isn’t quite Zelda, especially in a year with an actual Zelda. The presentation is wonderful, but the whole is just less than the sum of its parts. They're adding a "streamlined mode" which will help. Has a lot of "get to the point already" in it

10. Mario & Luigi Brothership: Only thing on my list I haven’t finished. And I'm not sure when I'll get back to it. It’s fine, from a series I don’t want just fine from. It also has that problem where there's just a little too much explanation and it makes the whole thing feel sluggish.

I should post my GOTY here or something.

Stole this post to be my self reminder: If you start “TV off” exactly at 11:57:55 on New Year’s Eve, Kendrick will yell “MUSTARDDDDDD” as soon as you enter 2025.

It does exist. Took a while to get a copy that was the right price.

Dr. Nut (circa 1936-circa 1978): An almond/amaretto-flavored soda from the New Orleans-based World Bottling Co. and Wright Root Beer, it developed a devoted and intense cult following.

Got some stuff from Japan

darmok and jalad at lunch

Post a video game gif from the year you were born

Mr. Do by any other name is still Mr. Do.

I intended to play this before the 2D-HD version came out.

Fortified Zone is one of those games that always looked neat in Nintendo Power but I never saw in the wild.

My most recent finds.

I am terrible at tennis.

It took a surprising amount of time to find this in this condition for a non-stupid price. And then I put a nice big alcohol thumbprint on it after taking this photo.

This was a good ebay week.

This was less interesting than I thought it might be.

Haul number tres. For when you need that mobile Mr. Do fix.

Number 2. Amazed I never had this as a kid.
