On a rewatch of Andor in prep for the second season. I'll just say that the scene where Cassian is arrested for no reason, and is then sent to some prison far out, hits extra hard nowadays.

It's interesting to me how Christianity and Judaism remain so strong despite us having all the information we need to dismantle them, being the old pantheons with Yahweh as a lesser storm god, as well as how concepts as flimsy as the devil and the trinity are more inserted than actually in the text.

Republicans aren't conservative. That'd mean keeping the status quo. They're actually what I call "regressive", actively pushing us back decades, where LGBTQ rights, minority rights, and women's rights, all go down the drain for some vague dream of an idealist past that never existed.

Deportations are only escalating. There are no fair trials, mega prisons (concentration camps), and virtually no resistance. The Alien Enemies act, already bad, is being used outside of a war context. The final question we have to ask ourselves is this: Will we let these fascists get what they want?
