I may have some gripes with Kaiser Permanente’s billing department, but at least they’re not UHC. If the GOP really wanted to take on fraud & waste, they should be looking at the insurance industry. They won’t, of course; they don’t bite the hand that bribes them.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? The number of parents that don't care much about their kids and/or have very thinly veiled resentment against them is much higher than most people think.

Like the replies in this thread only underscore exactly how fucked it is that anyone on Earth who is sick or injured or otherwise in need of medical aid has to think about money. It shouldn't even occur to a human being in th middle of dealing with pain or anguish or the possible end of their life.
