FINALLY we have emerging plans for College Green and its open for consultation! A beautiful, green and car free public space! Can you imagine?! Make sure you feed your thoughts into the public consultation process. Go to engage.dublincity.ie/en-IE/projec... You have until the 13th of July!

Thrilled to be elected as Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District with Cllr Mark Barry as Leas Cathaoirleach. Thanks to Cllt Fortune who held the chains of office for the past 12 months. Looking forward to working with community groups, especially young people, across the area.

1000 days and still no decision

Make College Green a space for people!

Today marks 1000 days since the railway order application for MetroLink was submitted to An Bord Pleanála. We marked the occasion by cutting a special MetroLink-themed cake outside ABP's offices to highlight the long delays for critical infrastructure in our planning system.

Loving the new proposal for Dublin’s College Green. Here’s hoping the plans bear fruit and that we don’t have another Groundhog Day. Have your say: engage.dublincity.ie/en-IE/projec...

Arrest Netanyahu. Time for the horror to end.

It's obviously not just a 'legal hurdle' that can be overcome with another cut at planning. Clearly there's a substantive problem with the project but neither the politicians nor those interviewing them want to engage with that. www.donegaldaily.com/2025/06/24/d...

The EPA found that enforcement of environmental requirements by local authorities is 'patently inadequate'. http://jrnl.ie/6743381

Cherry Orchard needs a village centre that will improve the area

@thinkorswim.bsky.social‬, @autofac.bsky.social‬, @annapr.bsky.social‬, ‪@foeireland.bsky.social‬ and others in the Irish climate space. I'd be very grateful if you could spread the word on this wonderful opportunity to name storms after those who make them stronger and more frequent.

Despite reforms aimed reducing insurance premiums, they're still going up. Here's the @greenparty_ie comment on what needs doing: greenparty.ie/news/greens-... (And watch this space: we're working on a full insurance policy proposal to launch soon!)

On LBC @zoejardiniere.bsky.social lists 3 previous instances where military aircraft have been targeted by campaigners in order to prevent them being used in war crimes, and she describes the govt banning Palestine Action as terrorists as an abuse of state power. Well said.

We can’t afford to let the climate crisis get swallowed up in the culture wars - Eamon Ryan 'As the ambition to keep global warming to 1.5 degrees slips away from us, we’re like a team going into the second half of a match 3-1 down. But there’s one thing in our favour'

@eppgroup.bsky.social have gone too far in embracing the conspiracy theories and anti-environment policies of the far-right. Its time progressive forces within the group halt the slide. www.politico.eu/article/gree...

Nuclear weapons have been in the Middle East for decades – not in Iran, but in Israel www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2025...

DART+ is ready to go. The West and South West lines can start construction next year. But will this government fund it?

Yesterday I spoke in Madrid about the bloodshed in the Middle East. Before speaking I visited Picasso’s 1937 painting of the bombing of Guernica, a sad reminder that too often we learn so little from history.

Parliament Street will become traffic-free from Friday 4th July

🧵No words for how infuriated this mea culpa from Carl Pope (former CEO @sierraclub.org) makes me feel. We openly shared with SC data on methane leaks from fracking while SC was secretly accepting $millions from the gas industry. Seriously fuck you. 1/7 Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/06/23/o...

Big news from Irish Rail today. Both judicial review cases against the much-needed DART+ West project have been withdrawn and settled. We now have two shovel-ready rail projects awaiting funding in DART+ West and South West.

Sean O'Driscoll's comments on public transport investment are not compatible with his membership of the new Infrastructure Taskforce. We are left with the question of whether his continued membership of this taskforce is tenable. Click the link below to read more 👇 shorturl.at/dGzt6

"Irish lakes at risk of similar Lough Neagh algal event" "The study concluded that 7 of the 35 lakes included in this study – 20% – face this high potential threat of experiencing" harmful algal bloom events. Stronger protection measures are needed! www.agriland.ie/farming-news...

Spot on letter by @wildmed.bsky.social! Galway’s councillors continue to hold its people hostage with their outdated approach to transport — a second ring road. The problem in Galway is not too few roads, but too many cars and too few viable alternatives.

Big day in Utrecht yesterday. Joint green-red campaign kicked off for Netherlands Autumn elections. Inspiring words from Jacinda Ardern @jesseklaver.groenlinkspvda.nl @VulaTsetsi.bsky.social and @franstimmermans.groenlinkspvda.nl. Here’s hoping strong @Groenlinks-pvda.bsky.social support continues.

Far right agitators are trying to use refugees and anyone who isn’t white as a scapegoat for the problems this country faces.

When you actually read this piece, the reason given is because the Greens wanted more funding for public transport and "hot air" about renewables. We do, yeah. We're playing catch-up after decades of no investment in public transport, clean energy and energy security and we have a long way to go.

Love Ireland? Then hate racism! Delighted to see so many familiar faces at the anti racism rally in Dublin today. Ireland is not full and Ireland is for all! #racism #antiracism #ireland #immigration #dublin #lovenothate #inclusion #diversity

The Minister for Climate and Environment pushing for more air travel in 2025… Not a word about emissions or the huge environmental damage caused by aviation — just more growth, more money, more of everything. We live on a finite planet. Remarks like these from you are terrifying.

I don't feel like reading this whole article. Can I get a really shitty summary that will serve no useful purpose?

Pollution and nutrient run-off has turned Lady Island’s Lake into an ecological disaster zone ⚠️ @rodericogorman.bsky.social joined RTÉ's Prime Time this week to call on the Minister for Agriculture to take the lead on solving this unfolding ecological crisis 👇

Cork Greens at the massive Raise the Roof rally on Grand Parade today! Whether you're locked out, renting, or raising a family – your voice will be heard and change has to come!

Dublin city councillor is a weird job. Most people don't know what you do from day to day, because there are no job specifications. I'm going to record some videos to explain how I approach the role. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have along the way...

Through the Safe Routes to School Programme launched by Minister Eamon Ryan in 2021, Cork is seeing real change. At Scoil Mhuire na nGrást in Belgooly, car travel dropped by nearly 60%! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Safer roads, healthier kids, cleaner air.

At one point, Moneypoint generated a quarter of Irish electricity with coal. No more coal-fired power stations on the island now.

Well, that’s the end of Ireland’s coal burning at Moneypoint power station. Good for climate, and cleaner air. www.rte.ie/news/2025/06...

This week, Greens brought a motion demanding Government stay on TRACK (Timely, Reliable, Affordable, Contactless, Key Targets) when it comes to Public Transport. To establish a new Public Transport Passenger Experience Office & €10 billion increase in capital for public transport in the NDP review!

Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman has said that he will travel to Hungary to attend the Budapest pride parade on 28 June after Hungarian police said they are banning the parade

For months now I have been asking why the Laura Brennan HPV vaccine catch-up programme is not progressing. Questions to the HSE, Min. for Health and the Taoiseach have so far not yielded any results. I welcome the Tánaiste comments - now let's see some action. www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-41...

Lady's Island Lake is one of Ireland's largest saline lagoons, and hosts a wide variety of bird-life. Unfortunately, it is also highly polluted. I have been working with the Wexford Green Party to highlight this, and today I raised the issue with the Taoiseach www.rte.ie/news/regiona...
