Nearing CKG Airport after a great visit to ITB in Bandung. Came by car. If you leave Bandung at 2pm, it's about 2.5 hours to the airport. If you leave at 3pm, at least on a Friday, it's 5 hours. Following which I will get on a plane and sit for another 8 hours.

I've been stalking NIH Reporter to see if any new R01s fund at the 15% F&A rate, but... no new full R01s have funded since 2/10/2025, not a single R01 - across all of NIH - since 2/08. Only 18 grants have been newly funded - I am happy for the F31/F32/F30, R35, K99 trainees who have received $$.

RFK Jr. thinks that a clinical trial should be done for the entire childhood vaccine schedule. Here’s why that will never happen. 1. You can’t do a randomized trial of something that we already know is safe and effective. There would have to be a placebo group that didn’t get vaxxed. Unethical.

The problem with leaving X is that you now just see screenshots from Musk or Trump saying insane things and it’s hard to know if they’re real or not. Some are obvious fakes, others surprisingly not. It just adds to the sense of unreality at the moment.
