On a somewhat related note, a lot of games have this weird rigidity and handholding almost in the fear that if you remove the guidance in place, someone will get lost or confused and have a bad time and then hate the game. It's v odd, fuck those dudes imho.

imo, Yellow Paint in video games discourse comes down to a v simple argument that Breath of the Wild didn't need to use Yellow Paint to communicate to the players that they could climb a wall, interact with an element. They just can and so they do.
