What a fucked-up framing from the #BrokenPost. Trump is surrendering Ukraine and the West to Putin but here the burden is on Zelensky to "salvage his relationship." Can Zelensky salvage his relationship with Trump and save Ukraine? wapo.st/4it7ZS3

If you support this, you’re an awful human being

This is key to understanding the building outrage & backlash that extends way beyond the hurt of those fired. Firing people for no reason is brutal & loathsome but the even larger overall offense is wiping out all the fired people’s jobs with them, all the purposes & needs & value those jobs serve.

Doing this right before firing three top military leaders is so deranged. Source at DoD told me, “Disdain for Hegseth is a near-universal feeling even among the Trumpiest in the office.“

None of this has anything to do with effectiveness, or “lethality,” or promoting “warfighters," or any other buzzwords. It is praetorianism, plain and simple, and it is an assault on our military and our democracy. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

This is quite significant in many ways: the overt thuggery, Trump’s barely suppressed fury at being contradicted by a woman, the governor’s standing up, the total abandonment of the pretense of federalism, the continuing use of trans Americans the way Hitler used Jews.

Sure Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the CNO....but they fired the top JAG's in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Why would you fire the top lawyers in the armed services at night on a Friday? That's the part you should be freaking out about.

Trump just fired the Joint Chief of Staff to install his own puppet. Do you really think he plans on leaving in 2028? www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

If there was any lingering question i believe it was just resolved

The premise of American foreign policy to Ukraine, today, is one of grievance. It is worth patiently considering the proposals. They reveal little about Ukraine, but much about America in February 2025. snyder.substack.com/p/recoup-the...

Just so everybody is clear on Republican priorities: We put up an amendment to make sure nobody making over $500 million gets a tax cut. Republicans voted against it.

Pure uncontainable rage is what I feel "Kfir and Ariel were murdered with bare hands; they killed them with their hands. After that, they committed horrific acts to their bodies to cover up the atrocities." www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_ent...

Hitler, who I do not support, never would have embraced genocide, which I also do not support, if the Weimar shitlibs hadn't tried so hard to deplatform him. by Glenn Greenwald

EXCLUSIVE: A federal worker at the EPA sent an incredible email to Administrator Lee Zeldin. He's refused to stay silent, and has asked me to share the email - and his name - with the public. My latest: www.muellershewrote.com/p/exclusive-...

One of the first targets here will almost certainly be blocking the mailing of abortion medications like mifepristone. If I'm right, it'll be a the biggest blow to reproductive freedom since the repeal of Roe.

I’m not sure the world has seen a genuine supervillain until 2025. Of course there’ve been countless monsters: hitler, Stalin, pol pot. But a real life figure who fits the Gotham/Metropolis model. Plutocrat bigwig who is actually deeply evil & wants to run the world for cartoonishly stupid reasons.

Tump has done nothing that would not be on a Russian wish list: -Ukraine invaded Russia. Support Putin. -A de facto Russian agent head of Intelligence. -Kills USAID, the largest competitor against Russia for foreign influence -A drunk cutting defense budget. That's a few. It's a long list.

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

Kickers need someone to hold their ball.

I'm less struck by the caught off guard vibe than the WTF are you talking about jackass, the "cuts" are literally illegal. You're in Congress?

Oh my God if this is true

The modern GOP was defined by Reagan at the Berlin Wall. It is now defined by supporting a dictator invading a European nation. This is the Republican Party’s legacy.

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame. The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

I hope the GOP knows that this lie is suicide
