I may or may not have a crush on 1970s/1980s yacht rock era Michael McDonald. He was just so damn cute, in a scruffy kind of way, and seems like such a nice guy now. Powerful line today: guinea worm infections existed from the dawn of humanity, until Pres. Carter arrived in the impacted villages. He’s not a savior, just a guy who cared enough about small town strangers to show up with useful info. Villagers eradicated guinea worm by talking with their neighbors.

I cried a little this AM, listening to Pres. Carter’s memorial service. It’s sad when anyone dies, + additional layers of meaning kept piling up for me. Familiar Georgia accents I haven’t heard in years, the focus on integrity & character. Hoping we see more people like him in this messed up decade.
