In recognition that whimsy is it’s own kind of weapon against darkness, and that we need good art and science now more than ever, let me reissue this reminder 🐙🪼 The world is bigger than this moment, and it is still full of magic.

Today is #WorldWetlandsDay. Wetlands are foundational to our shared future, they provide vital ecosystems, & enrich our lives in so many ways. This one, at Tahbilk, makes my heart sing. Let's do everything we can to support them, & their role in healthy Country. #TaungurungCountry #WWD2025

Um Asians were literally the targets of hate crimes in Australia during the pandemic & the Coalition actively pushed back against those of us who were raising alarm about it, suggesting it was some beat-up by the CCP #auspol

Octavia Butler couldn’t see the future. She saw what was happening in front of her and, in addition to studying the past, was able to imagine where it would lead. It’s important to tell the truth about her because mythologizing her is a disservice to her legacy.

On our way out of the evac zone we stopped for a smoke and came across a group of neighbors having a party in the lot of a laundromat, across the street dozens of residents are cooking food and organizing a mountain of donations for folks to take.
