How it started: Target pummeled by the Right for supporting Pride month in 2023. (Then pummeled by the Left for cowing to the Right.) How it's going: Target sued for dropping DEI initiatives in 2024, losing $15.7B for shareholders. If it's a no-win, might as well be on the correct side of history.
