Child's Rocking Chair in Quartersawn White Oak and Walnut Tung Oil finish

Happy Valentine's Day from Red Beard Restoration and the Window Preservation Standards Collaborative

Original 9/9 wood window from a home built in 1880 suffering from decades of deferred maintenance. Yes, this window sash is 145 years old, and now works like it did the day it was first installed. #restoration #woodwindow #preservation #victorian #craftsman #tradework #historictrades

And down to business - this work supports my #woodworking habit: window #preservation. Old wood windows, properly restored, can be just as energy efficient as modern replacements! #RestoreDontReplace #VinylisEvil #WoodWindows #WindowPreservationAlliance #HistoricPreservation

A recent occasional table I built in the #Craftsman style - a nod to furniture maker Gustav Stickley. Quadralinear legs showcase the quartersawn white oak grain on all four sides. This was a lot of fun, and it fits our 1888 #Victorian home quite well. Pleased with the arch matching the window.

My inaugural post! My name is Chad Nelson, and I own/operate "Red Beard Restoration." I specialize in the preservation, restoration and repair of historic wood windows. In my free time, I make use of my workshop for fine #woodworking projects, such as this open shoulder tool tote.
