Defeatism is sticking your fucking head in the sand and expecting the people that are bought and paid for to bite the hand that feeds. Your instututions were duct taped together by norms that have been entirely abandoned. You're going to have to actually do something.

It’s fucked up that some of you are starting accounts on that Chinese social media place. For one, that website might steal your information.
