yes! i bought it on CASSETTE and listened to it on my walkman constantly. wrote the lyrics to oceans all over my notebooks. this record is still perfection and it will always be dear to me. π©·

like, that part happens and suddenly i'm orbiting in space among the stars & can hear the voices of all women throughout time! how does she DO that? just completely send you somewhere else with just a chord progression or her vocal phrasing?! it's such a gift.

same here. i find beekeeper to be one of the most comforting records. so glad we have her in these moments.

this is the third time where i actually get to speak directly with her. (other times were dayton 96 and akron 98.) i've been like second or third row in a barricade during a m&g & been close enough to pass my cd up to sign, but not close enough to chat. π€£π©· so excited this is the main event. π

yeah, those of us with common sense know it's problematic. meanwhile, the almighty dollar always wins, which means they will find ways to get rid of human labor for AI.

SAME. i can't get excited about it. maybe if we weren't in a system built on exploitation & profit, AI would be a great tool. but we're run by bean counters who don't care. i'm a librarian & this nonsense coupled with fascist hatred of education means very soon i won't have a job.

yeaaaah, i constantly feel like cassandra over here, telling people AI is one of the worst things to happen to humanity. π

you were a total nerd if you did two straps! you cared way too much if you did two straps!
flash forward to the early aughts and everyone was doing two straps.
i was ahead of my time. *sniff*

yeah! this was some unspoken rule for us too. i remember feeling awkward about this, just like i felt awkward wearing skirts & spending an hour in the morning doing my hair.
i also remember DARING to wear my backpack with both straps instead of the casual one strap look. π
